Playing away at Groupama Stadium, PSG quickly gained control of the game thanks to the superior ball-handling ability of their young midfield.
Following a series of attacks, Vitinha delivered a precise cross for Warren Zaire-Emery to finish and open the scoring in the 26th minute.

The visitors' joy was short-lived. Just three minutes later, Lyon nearly won a penalty, but quickly equalized 1-1 thanks to a decisive strike from Afonso Daniel.
But PSG immediately responded. In the 30th minute, Kvaratskhelia showed class on the edge of the penalty area, unleashing a powerful low shot to restore PSG's lead at 2-1.
In the second half, Lyon mounted a strong comeback. Maitland-Niles brought the game back to a tie with a neat finish, leaving the PSG defense reeling.
In the remaining minutes, Luis Enrique's team pushed forward, creating a series of opportunities, but all were brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Lopes.
