Gabriel Ganley died mysteriously before a major competition.

A 22-year-old male bodybuilding influencer in Brazil was found dead in his apartment just weeks before participating in one of the country's biggest bodybuilding competitions. Police are currently investigating the case as a "suspicious death."

The body of 22-year-old Gabriel Ganley was found face down on the kitchen floor of his apartment in São Paulo on May 23. Near the scene, authorities discovered several substances suspected to be anabolic steroids, according to CNN Brasil.

The São Paulo State Public Security Agency said there were no obvious signs of violence at the scene. A friend discovered the incident after asking building staff to break down the apartment door because Ganley had been unable to contact him since the evening of May 21.

The exact time of Ganley's death has not yet been determined. The influencer was preparing to participate in the Musclecontest Brazil in July, considered one of the biggest bodybuilding competitions in Brazil.

The incident was recorded as a "suspicious death - sudden death" while forensic authorities continued their investigation. According to Brazilian media, police seized various drugs from the apartment, including substances suspected to be anabolic steroids. To date, the official cause of death has not been released.

Some sources suggest Ganley may have experienced hypoglycemia, a condition where blood sugar levels drop too low. This can occur as a side effect of certain treatments, such as insulin use, or when steroid users suddenly stop taking their medication.

Police are still investigating the death of Gabriel Ganley.

In a statement sent to the media, Ganley's mother said she last spoke to her son on the evening of May 21st. According to her, Ganley said he was healthy and had no unusual symptoms. She also confirmed that her son had no history of heart disease.

Ganley is famous on social media under the nickname "Bebezinho," with over 2.3 million followers on Instagram. He often shares workout videos and diet plans for bodybuilders.

Previously, Ganley had posted about experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, pneumonia, and fluid in his lungs after gaining nearly 20 kg of muscle in just a few days. Initially, he advocated for a "natural bodybuilding" style, meaning not using performance-enhancing drugs. However, the influencer later admitted to using anabolic steroids.

Following Ganley's death, Integral Medica, the nutritional supplement brand that sponsored him, posted a message of condolence.

"We have not only lost a talented and dedicated athlete with a bright future ahead, but also someone who inspired thousands of young people every day with his energy, discipline, and sincerity," the announcement read.

A brand representative also stated that Ganley left his mark wherever he went. "His charisma, presence, and zest for life will live on in the memories of those who knew him and were close to him."
