In the telecommunications infrastructure sector, Qualcomm is collaborating with Viettel to develop 5G Open RAN equipment and next-generation 6G network devices. Qualcomm plans to test 6G in 2028 and expects to commercialize the technology from 2029.
Notably, Qualcomm and Viettel have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop Vietnam's first AI phone, integrating Qualcomm's high-end Snapdragon chip with Viettel's AI agents and Vietnamese language model. The product is expected to be commercialized in 2027.
In particular, through the VNPT-Qualcomm Center of Excellence, the two sides are developing "make in Vietnam" devices such as CPE, AI Box, AI computers, and AI cameras, targeting both domestic and international markets, thereby contributing to elevating Vietnam's position from outsourcing to innovation in the technology value chain.
In the field of robotics technology, Qualcomm is supporting VinMotion in commercializing its humanoid robot platform. The first step is to deploy this technology within the Vingroup ecosystem in 2026, with the ambition to expand globally by 2028.
