Regarding the case of the "6-year-old boy allegedly abused in District 8," on October 3rd, a source informed a reporter from SGGP Newspaper that the People's Committee of District 8 (Ho Chi Minh City) had provided initial information about the incident.

Accordingly, at approximately 3:30 PM on October 1st, Ms. NTV (born in 1999, residing in Phu Yen province) reported to the Police Station of Ward 16 (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) that her child, NTK (born in 2018, residing in District 8), had been subjected to domestic violence. Ms. V. stated that in 2016, she and Mr. NQT (born in 2000, residing in Ward 5, District 8) lived together as husband and wife but did not register their marriage.

In 2018, she and Mr. T. had a child, K., together. In April 2021, due to a lack of affection, they separated, and Ms. V. took K. to live in Phu Yen province.

In mid-July 2024, due to lack of time to care for baby K., Ms. V. proactively contacted Mr. T. and entrusted her child to his care in Phu Yen.

On September 28th, Ms. V. received a phone call from Mr. C. informing her that baby K., who was staying with her father at their house on An Duong Vuong Street (Ward 16, District 8), showed signs of burns, so Mr. C.'s family had taken her to Children's Hospital 1 for treatment.

On April 29th, Ms. V. arrived in Ho Chi Minh City and went to the hospital to care for her child. Preliminary diagnoses indicated that K. suffered burns to the ankles, feet, and both lower legs, injuries resulting from being beaten.

The boy's wounds were bandaged.

Ms. V. noticed injuries on her child's body that she suspected were the result of abuse, so she reported it to the police. During the investigation, the police summoned those involved for questioning.

Upon checking the house in Ward 8, the police noted that Mr. T. was no longer residing there. The police are currently verifying places Mr. T. might have visited in order to summon him for questioning and handle the matter according to regulations.

On the morning of October 2nd, the leaders of Ward 16 (District 8) directed the Ward People's Committee, along with the Women's Union and other ward organizations, to visit the child's residence, work with the landlord and neighboring households to gather information; and formed a working group to inquire about the child's health and understand the family's feelings and wishes in order to provide guidance and support for resolving the issue.

Based on the information gathered, the residents of the house where K. lived have vacated their rooms and left the area. Authorities are currently assessing K.'s injuries and searching for Mr. K. and his girlfriend to clarify the incident.
