The Russian military has delivered nuclear warheads to a missile brigade in Belarus.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the country's military has transferred nuclear warheads to a missile brigade in Belarus during strategic nuclear exercises.

"As part of the nuclear exercises, nuclear ammunition was transferred to field storage facilities in the deployment area of ​​the missile brigade in the Republic of Belarus."

"Soldiers of this brigade are practicing combat training tasks, including receiving special ammunition for the Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile system, loading ammunition into launch tubes, and secretly advancing to the designated area to prepare for launches," the Russian Ministry of Defense statement said.

Earlier, on May 19, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its nuclear forces had launched a large-scale exercise aimed at practicing the use of nuclear weapons in the context of a threatened attack.

The exercise involved more than 64,000 servicemen and over 7,800 types of weapons, military equipment, and specialized devices, including more than 200 missile launchers, over 140 aircraft, 73 surface ships, and 13 submarines, including 8 strategic missile cruisers, according to data from the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The exercise aimed to practice preparing several units and formations of the nuclear forces to accomplish all assigned objectives, provide them with comprehensive logistical support, and conduct test launches of ballistic and cruise missiles at test ranges across Russia.

The ministry said the exercise also focused on practical measures for preparing and using joint nuclear weapons deployed on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
