From January 2022 to December 2024, AEPD completed phase 1 of the community-based disaster management project for people with disabilities. In the 2025-2027 period, AEPD will continue to implement the project in three communes, including Phong Nha, Bo Trach and Bac Trach, with the participation of people with disabilities in activities such as improving capacity for prevention, response and reduction of disaster risks; developing sustainable livelihoods and adapting to climate change; improving disaster-resilient infrastructure; communication and monitoring.

Aims to enhance the capacity of vulnerable localities and communities, especially people with disabilities, to withstand, reduce risks and respond to natural disasters. The project strives to have 40 villages develop community-based disaster risk management plans by the end of the program; 37 villages implement 65% of the total activities in the community-based disaster risk management plan; at the same time, disaster mitigation infrastructure, 2 community flood shelters and 5 warning systems will be put into operation; 1,000 households in the villages will have additional income thanks to the project's interventions.
The project “Community-based disaster management for people with disabilities, phase 2025 - 2027”, is implemented from the third quarter of 2025 to December 2027.
