"Mock trial" to propagate andeducate the law for union members, youth, students, and pupils organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Provincial People's Committee.
Social evils can be understood as negative social phenomena. They are manifested through illegal acts, violations of social ethics, and even violations of the law that have a negative impact on individuals, families, and society. In recent years, social evils have become increasingly complex. Social evils such as school violence, gambling, lottery, betting, online games, drug trafficking and use... have been creeping into the lives of a significant number of young people. The identified cause is the penetration of cultural forms such as the internet with bad content, violent and depraved movies... causing some young people to be infected, imitate, leading to a decadent lifestyle. Along with that is the laxity in managing their children by their parents. Most young people who fall into social evils are due to lack of parental care, or their families have difficult circumstances...
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Truong in Quang Thanh ward ( Thanh Hoa city), the laxity of families and society is flooding with deviant forms of entertainment, while healthy forms of entertainment have not yet attracted much attention from young people. This makes young people curious to seek out foreign forms of entertainment or participate in unhealthy entertainment, leading to social evils.
Reality has proven that when falling into social evils in the form of gambling, lottery, betting, online games or drug use... makes young people fall into a loose lifestyle, poverty, leading to illegal acts such as robbery, even getting caught up in the law... Every year, the provincial authorities have handled many cases of fighting, theft, robbery, disturbing public order... related to minors. Most of the criminals have social evils such as gambling, drug addiction...
Realizing the importance of preventing and combating social evils for school-age children, in recent times, the Thanh Hoa education sector has implemented many practical solutions such as organizing a launching ceremony and signing a commitment to say no to drugs and social evils in schools every year; organizing extracurricular activities for students to visually perceive social evils and the consequences caused by social evils. Schools also thoroughly instruct teachers to skillfully integrate issues of preventing and combating social evils and drug abuse into lessons, especially in subjects such as Biology, Civic Education... to raise awareness among students.
Along with the education sector, mass organizations are also actively joining hands to prevent and combat social evils from penetrating the youth. For example, organizing the campaign "Building a beautiful image of Thanh Hoa youth in the new era"; establishing and putting into operation clubs to prevent and combat social evils; organizing the forum "Youth living beautifully, living usefully"; "Mock trial" to communicate the prevention and combat of social evils...
According to Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Mai, propaganda activities in the form of "Mock Trial" are considered a new way of propagating the law for union members, youth, pupils and students. Through the activities, union members, youth, pupils and students are aimed at better understanding the dangers of social evils, contributing to preventing and orienting them with life skills, avoiding social evils as well as being aware of the consequences of illegal acts, thereby raising awareness of the rule of law.
The involvement of all levels and sectors in the prevention and control of social evils among young people in recent times is very commendable. However, to create a clear change in this task, many people believe that there needs to be a synchronous involvement of the entire political system, close coordination between families and schools. In particular, families and schools need to pay more attention to the issue of psychological support for minors. In the face of the increasing and difficult-to-control pressures that children face, school psychological counseling must be more substantial and effective. Party committees, authorities, departments, sectors, and organizations, including the Youth Union, need to be proactive and continue to contribute their youth with functional sectors to reduce social evils among young people.
Creating a healthy living environment for young people is not the responsibility of any one person. In which, families and schools play a leading role. In particular, each young person needs to raise awareness, have a healthy and positive lifestyle, and proactively prevent and avoid social evils.
