Creating sustainable livelihoods from heritage.
According to Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, with its rich and diverse activities, the festival is not only an opportunity for people to interact and strengthen national unity, but also a chance for localities to spread and promote the image and traditional culture of the Cham ethnic group, thereby boosting tourism and socio-economic development in the area.
The head of the Tourism Department suggested that on this occasion, the organizing committee should hold an event to honor artisans and Cham people who have made achievements and contributions to economic development and actively preserved and promoted the traditional culture of the local communities.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Festival, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, affirmed that the locality will focus on reviewing the content, rituals of the festival, opening and closing ceremonies, etc., to ensure the participation of a large number of Cham people from various localities; at the same time, reviewing the preparation of logistics, accommodation, and stabilizing service prices.

“Preserving cultural values while simultaneously creating sustainable livelihoods for ethnic minority communities across the country is one of the issues that localities are very concerned about. Therefore, through activities at the festival, it is necessary to introduce products and unique values of each locality, linked to the sustainable development of tourism in areas where the Cham ethnic people live,” Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy emphasized.
According to leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the values from the Festival will contribute to preserving and promoting heritage, and concretize the major policies of the Party and State on ethnic affairs and cultural development, especially Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on the development of Vietnamese culture in the new period.
In particular, the series of activities of the event also contributes to raising social awareness about the position and role of culture in sustainable development; arousing national pride and a sense of responsibility in preserving, transmitting, and promoting the traditional cultural heritage of the Cham people in the context of deep international integration; at the same time, opening up a space for cultural exchange and interaction among Cham people from different localities; promoting typical cultural values of the Cham people associated with tourism development.../.
Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo was issued in the context of the country entering a new stage of development, requiring close integration between the economy, politics, society, culture, heritage, and people.
The resolution affirms that the development of culture and human resources is the foundation, an important endogenous resource, and also the driving force and pillar ensuring sustainable development in the new era.
The goal by 2030 is to build an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity; strongly develop cultural industries; narrow the gap in cultural enjoyment between regions; and gradually form cultural and artistic brands with regional and international stature.
