Quang Binh welcomed 115,000 tourists during the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024.

According to reporters' observations, in the early days of the new spring, with favorable weather, a large number of locals and tourists came to offer incense and visit spiritual and historical tourist destinations such as Hoang Phuc Pagoda - an ancient temple over 700 years old in Le Thuy district; Than Dinh Mountain, Quang Ninh district; the memorial temple for the heroic martyrs of the 20th Victory Road, Bo Trach district; and especially to offer incense and pay respects at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua, Quang Trach district.

With favorable weather during the Lunar New Year holidays, tourists visited Phong Nha Cave from early morning.

After a long period of suspension of visits and offerings, at the end of 2023, the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap was "reopened" to serve the people and has become a spiritual destination for most tourists when coming to Quang Binh.

At tourist attractions within the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center, Thien Duong Cave, or destinations operated by Oxalis (Chua me dat) Company, in addition to the usual sightseeing and experiential services, there are also spaces recreating traditional Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations with eye-catching and authentic decorations, creating unique photo opportunities for visitors.

At Chay Lap Farmstay, visitors can participate in traditional folk games in the Chay Lap village such as throwing the ball, balancing on a palanquin bridge, passing cards, walking on stilts… Families, especially young families, can freely immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the traditional Tet holiday, take vibrant photos, and enjoy red dragon fruit juice, wishing for good luck.

Notably, this Tet holiday in Quang Binh, the climate-resilient Tu Lan Lodge resort and the floating homestays in Tan Hoa, the world's best tourist village, are welcoming guests for the first time to experience and stay there.

According to Oxalis's leadership, during the first four days of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Dragon), 100% of the rooms at Tu Lan Lodge were fully booked, and the occupancy rate of homestays reached 80%. In addition, 300-500 visitors came to Tan Hoa Tourist Village each day to visit and celebrate the Lunar New Year.

During the three days of Tet (Lunar New Year), Oxalis also organized two tours for guests to explore caves and camp overnight in Tan Hoa, and one tour taking tourists on a "Journey to find the traces of the legendary Truong Son Mountains" along the 20th Victory Road.

According to Dang Dong Ha, Deputy Director of the Quang Binh Department of Tourism, the total number of tourists in the province from February 8th to 14th reached approximately 115,000, an increase of 4.5% compared to the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit, with international tourists increasing by 20% compared to the previous Lunar New Year holiday.

Foreign tourists are captivated by the unique and magnificent beauty of the caves in Quang Binh.

Tourists mainly travel in family groups or small groups, using private vehicles or trains, airplanes, and private rental cars for sightseeing and experiences.

Even during peak tourist seasons, the reception and service at the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center, as well as other tourist areas and attractions, are generally well-maintained, ensuring safe and friendly tourism activities.
