Quang Nam currently has 1,500 hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng.

(QNO) - According to a report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Nam, by May 2025, the total area capable of growing Ngoc Linh ginseng in the whole province is 15,567 hectares.

Of the total area mentioned above, the area at an altitude of 1,200 - 2,000m is 13,329ha and the area above 2,000m is 2,238ha. These are areas with climate and soil conditions suitable for the growth and development of Ngoc Linh ginseng.

According to Decision No. 611/QD-TTg dated June 1, 2023 of the Prime Minister, Quang Nam province is oriented to develop a raw material area of ​​8,400 hectares by 2030.

As of the reporting time, the total area of ​​Ngoc Linh ginseng cultivation in the province reached about 1,500 hectares. Of which, Nam Tra My district is the locality with the strongest ginseng cultivation development, with 40 household groups/532 households and 18 organizations allocated land or rented forest environment to grow ginseng.

Specifically, the area allocated to households is 464.63 hectares, while organizations are allocated 341.75 hectares. These are remarkable figures, showing the great efforts of the locality in developing this precious medicinal plant.

Regarding growth ability, Ngoc Linh ginseng is assessed to develop relatively stably in communes of Nam Tra My district such as Tra Linh, Tra Nam, Tra Cang, Tra Don, Tra Tap, Tra Leng and Tra Don.
