Quang Nam: Prosecution of a subject who murdered to benefit from insurance

(Chinhphu.vn) - Based on collected documents and evidence, the police have determined that To Thi Ty Na (residing in Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province) killed her biological child, H., to profit from insurance.

According to information from the Quang Nam Provincial Police, implementing the direction of the Ministry of Public Security 's leaders on improving the quality and effectiveness of management and handling of temporarily suspended cases, Major General Nguyen Huu Hop, Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Police, has directed the Provincial Police Investigation Agency to inspect and review related cases.

From the inspection and review work, the Investigation Police Agency has verified and resolved the murder case that occurred on January 2, 2023 and clarified that the murderer was To Thi Ty Na (born in 1981, residing in Ward 3, Ha Lam Town, Thang Binh District, Quang Nam Province).

The investigation results determined that at around 10:05 p.m. on January 2, 2023, at To Thi Ty Na's house, NVH (born in 2017), Na's biological child, died in the bathroom. Based on the documents and evidence collected, the police determined that Na had killed H. with the intention of taking advantage of insurance.

On the evening of April 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Nam Province Police issued decisions to prosecute and temporarily detain To Thi Ty Na for murder.

The case is currently being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
