Quang Ngai: While working in the fields, locals discover two mortar shells.

While working in their fields, residents of Son Ha commune, Quang Ngai province, discovered two mortar shells left over from the war.

On September 4th, Mr. Pham Minh Tam, Deputy Head of Son Ha Commune Police, stated that Son Ha Commune Police are coordinating with the Command Board of Defense Area 1 - Son Tinh (Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command) to collect and dispose of the two mortar shells that were recently discovered.

Earlier, while working in the fields in Truong Khay and Deo Gio hamlets, Son Ha commune, local residents discovered two unexploded ordnance and reported it to the local authorities.

The mortar shells discovered were leftover ammunition from the war.

Upon receiving the information, the Son Ha commune police immediately assigned forces to stand guard, cordon off, and protect the scene. Verification revealed that the two shells were mortar rounds, leftovers from the war. One was a 105mm caliber, weighing approximately 5kg, and the other was an 82mm caliber, weighing approximately 2.5kg.
