Rich tourism resources
On July 9, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province organized a seminar on “connecting and cooperating to develop Quang Ngai tourism”. The seminar is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Tourism Industry.
This is also a special event, marking an important first step after Quang Ngai and Kon Tum provinces completed the merger and officially put the new government into operation. The forum is expected to become a solid foundation, contributing to shaping the tourism development strategy of Quang Ngai in the new period, with the spirit of "joining forces to create and break through the future".
Ms. Pham Thi Trung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province, said that even before the merger, both provinces had built their own tourism brands, leaving a deep impression on domestic and international tourists. Tourism has become an important economic sector, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, creating a stable source of income, helping people, especially ethnic minorities, to have more livelihoods, gradually rising out of poverty.

The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province assessed that after the merger, the new Quang Ngai possesses extremely rich tourism resources, harmoniously combining sea, islands, mountains, forests, plateaus and unique traditional cultural values. The province has many outstanding destinations such as Ly Son island, My Khe beach, Sa Huynh, in addition to unique eco-tourism and cultural destinations from Kon Tum such as Mang Den, Pa Sy waterfall, Ngoc Linh mountain or cultural villages with rich identities.
“The province clearly identified that the new apparatus needs to be put into operation quickly and effectively from the very first days. Therefore, immediately after its establishment, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proactively organized a discussion, hoping that this would be an opportunity to more clearly recognize the potential and strengths of Quang Ngai tourism after the merger, and at the same time listen to and receive initiatives and ideas to build a long-term tourism development strategy, suitable for reality, meeting the trend of sustainable development,” said Ms. Pham Thi Trung.
Sharing at the discussion, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri, Secretary of Ly Son Special Zone, said that after the merger, Quang Ngai owns two famous tourism brands, Ly Son Island and Mang Den. However, the infrastructure of these two destinations is currently weak and lacking. Therefore, if the province's tourism industry wants to develop sustainably, first of all, the provincial leaders need to pay attention to investing, connecting tourism service infrastructure, and innovating the way of doing and thinking in this field.
Prioritize the development of Ly Son and Mang Den
Ms. Y Ngoc, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, said that in the coming time, the province will focus on directing a number of key tasks to create a breakthrough and raise the level of tourism. In particular, the province will prioritize developing Ly Son island into a unique sea and island tourism center, while building Mang Den tourist area into a national-level ecological and resort destination. At the same time, the province will promote inter-regional tourism development, diversify products, and make the most of geographical and cultural advantages.
Along with that, the province will focus on applying technology, promoting digital transformation in tourism promotion and management, building a distinct tourism brand, gradually affirming Quang Ngai's position on the domestic and international tourism map.

“The province requires all tourism development orientations to be closely linked to cultural preservation, environmental protection, and at the same time improving the lives of people, especially ethnic minorities. People must truly become the center and direct beneficiaries of the sustainable development of the tourism industry,” emphasized Ms. Y Ngoc, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee.
Within the framework of the discussion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province announced the hotline 0946.888.225, directly operated and managed by the Tourism Management Department, to receive feedback and suggestions from people and businesses on issues related to tourism activities. The announcement of the hotline aims to create a channel for frank and open exchange, helping the tourism industry to promptly listen, absorb, adjust, and gradually improve the tourism environment to be more civilized, friendly, and professional.
On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province also launched a special stimulus and promotion program to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam Tourism.
