Abundant tourism resources

On July 9th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province organized a seminar titled "Connecting and Cooperating for the Development of Tourism in Quang Ngai". The seminar was part of a series of activities commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese Tourism Industry.

This event also holds special significance, marking an important beginning after Quang Ngai and Kon Tum provinces completed their merger and officially put their new administrative apparatus into operation. The forum is expected to become a solid foundation, contributing to shaping Quang Ngai's tourism development strategy in the new phase, with the spirit of "jointly creating and breaking through to the future".

According to Ms. Pham Thi Trung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province, even before the merger, both provinces had already built their own distinct tourism brands, leaving a deep impression on domestic and international tourists. Tourism has become an important economic sector, contributing to socio-economic development, creating a stable source of income, and helping people, especially ethnic minorities, to have additional livelihoods and gradually rise out of poverty.

The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province assessed that, after the merger, the new Quang Ngai possesses an extremely rich source of tourism resources, harmoniously combining islands, mountains, plateaus, and unique traditional cultural values. The province has many outstanding destinations such as Ly Son Island, My Khe Beach, Sa Huynh, in addition to unique ecological and cultural tourist destinations from Kon Tum such as Mang Den, Pa Sy Waterfall, Ngoc Linh Mountain, or community cultural villages rich in identity.

“The province clearly determined that the new apparatus needed to quickly become operational and effective from the very first days. Therefore, immediately after its establishment, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proactively organized a seminar, hoping that this would be an opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of the potential and strengths of Quang Ngai tourism after the merger, and at the same time listen to and receive initiatives and ideas to build a long-term tourism development strategy that is suitable to reality and meets the trend of sustainable development,” said Ms. Pham Thi Trung.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri, Secretary of the Ly Son Special Economic Zone, stated that after the merger, Quang Ngai possesses two famous tourism brands: Ly Son Island and Mang Den. However, these two destinations currently have weak and inadequate infrastructure. Therefore, for the province's tourism industry to develop sustainably, the provincial leadership must first focus on investing in and connecting tourism service infrastructure, and innovating the approach and mindset in this field.

Prioritize the development of Ly Son and Mang Den.

According to Ms. Y Ngoc, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, in the coming time, the province will focus on directing a number of key tasks to create breakthroughs and elevate tourism. In particular, the province will prioritize developing Ly Son Island into a unique marine and island tourism center, while simultaneously building the Mang Den tourist area into a national-level ecological and resort destination. Alongside this, the province will promote inter-regional tourism development, diversify products, and maximize the advantages of its geographical and cultural heritage.

In addition, the province will focus on applying technology and promoting digital transformation in tourism promotion and management, building a unique tourism brand, and gradually asserting Quang Ngai's position on the domestic and international tourism map.

A hotline has been announced to receive feedback and suggestions from citizens and businesses on issues related to tourism.

“The province requires that all tourism development orientations must be closely linked to cultural preservation, environmental protection, and improving the lives of the people, especially ethnic minorities. The people must truly become the center and the direct beneficiaries of the sustainable development of the tourism industry,” emphasized Ms. Y Ngoc, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province.

During the seminar, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province announced the hotline 0946.888.225, directly operated and managed by the Tourism Management Department, to receive feedback and suggestions from citizens and businesses on issues related to tourism activities. The announcement of the hotline aims to create a frank and open exchange channel, helping the tourism industry to promptly listen, absorb, and adjust, gradually improving the tourism environment to be more civilized, friendly, and professional.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province also launched a special promotional program to stimulate demand in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam's Tourism Industry.
