Quang Ngai: Fishing boat takes on water, 11 fishermen rescued in time.

On the morning of June 18th, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung – Chairman of the Fishermen's Union of Binh Chau commune (Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) – reported that a local fishing boat had taken on water and sunk in the waters near Ly Son island. Fortunately, all 11 fishermen on board were rescued safely.

According to reports, at approximately 4:00 AM on the same day, the fishing vessel QNg-95039 TS, captained by Mr. Bui Van Trung (from Binh Chau commune), was approaching shore when it suddenly began to take on water and sank about 2km from Be Island (part of Ly Son district). The fishermen quickly transferred to small boats and contacted the mainland, about 30km from Ly Son Island, to request assistance.

The fishermen, who had been adrift in their small boat for two hours, were then rescued.

At around 6 a.m., a passing fishing boat spotted and rescued all 11 people, bringing them safely aboard. Simultaneously, two local fishermen – Mr. Bui Cong and Mr. Bui Luc – along with four fishing boats and more than 10 workers, set out using GPS data to reach the scene. Currently, the vessels are working to salvage the fishing nets and tow the distressed vessel ashore.
