Quang Ninh: Spreading the movement of learning and self-improvement.

Over the years, the province has consistently prioritized education and training. Along with investing in infrastructure, the province has implemented numerous policies to encourage learning and self-improvement among students. In response to this attention, students in the province have strived to excel in their studies and training, achieving many outstanding accomplishments.

The "Outstanding Students" Club of Ha Long University collaborated to organize a summer activity "English for the Community" in Phong Hai Ward (Quang Yen Town), in July 2024.

The province prioritizes budgetary resources to invest in and upgrade the infrastructure of educational and training institutions to meet standards and modernize them, creating conditions for students to enjoy the best educational environment. In particular, the province allocates resources to invest in building schools according to high-quality standards and constructing new schools with integrated, spacious, and modern designs, creating a comprehensive development environment for students, such as: Hon Gai High School, Ngo Quyen High School, Quang La Secondary and High School (Ha Long City); Binh Lieu High School (Binh Lieu District); Ba Che Ethnic Boarding School (Ba Che District); Dong Ngu Primary School (Tien Yen District)...

In addition, the province has many specific policies to support lecturers, teachers, children, and students. Quang Ninh is a leading locality nationwide in providing 100% tuition fee support for students. For example, in the three academic years 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2024-2025, the province allocated hundreds of billions of VND to support tuition fees for preschool children, primary and secondary school students, and continuing education students studying at educational institutions in the province...

Besides the provincial government's attention, the provincial Education Department closely directs and launches many emulation movements among students. The provincial Youth Union and Student Association effectively maintain the "5 Good Students" movement (Good Academics - Good Morality - Good Skills - Good Integration - Good Physical Fitness) and the "3 Good Students" movement (Good Morality - Good Academics - Good Physical Fitness). At the beginning of each school year, students register for the title and participate in the movement; schools create sections to publicize exemplary "5 Good Students" and "3 Good Students" on the Youth Union's social media pages; and organize forums to share experiences and support students in setting goals to achieve the title. Youth Unions in schools launch many volunteer movements: the "Green Summer" volunteer campaign, the "Red Phoenix Flower" campaign, the "Supporting the Exam Season" campaign, the "Youth with the Spring of the Border" campaign, voluntary blood donation, etc. thereby creating an environment for students to train, overcome challenges, and grow.

Students in the province participated in the ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Festival at the Vietnam-Japan Labor Culture Palace (Ha Long City).

Schools are strengthening theoretical education for students through the "Youth Union Member Training" program, linked to the evaluation of Youth Union member quality. Many schools organize the study of political theory lessons suitable to the specific conditions of the school; send students to participate in the 2024 Conference on the study of 5 political theory lessons organized by the Provincial Youth Union of Government Agencies; deploy the "Vietnamese Youth" application and conduct assessments of the study of the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Youth Union, the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Student Association...

Many schools organize practical activities for students. For example, the Youth Union of Ha Long University organizes commendations for "Outstanding Students at the School Level," exchanges between clubs, teams, and groups; the "SPELLIG BEE 2024" competition; volunteer programs for the community; thematic activities commemorating the birthday of President Ho Chi Minh; summer activities "English for the Community"; the "Teaching Well, Learning Well, Actively Conducting Scientific Research" emulation movement; the "Student Entrepreneurship" program, focusing on supporting students with knowledge, skills, connections, and initial conditions for starting and establishing businesses; and entrepreneurship training for union members and students...

Hon Gai High School (Ha Long City) is promoting the "Three Good Students" emulation movement, "Good Study Day - Good Study Week - Good Study Month"; actively responding to the movement "Ha Long Youth studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh"... In 2024, the Party Committee of Hon Gai High School organized the admission of 7 outstanding students into the Party. These students have excellent academic and training achievements, good organizational discipline, high achievements in student competitions at all levels, and outstanding achievements in youth union work and youth movements during their three years at the school. This is a special milestone for the students, demonstrating the correct policy of the Party committees at all levels in the work of developing Party members among students. This contributes to guiding ideals, unleashing the energy of youth, and inspiring the desire to contribute among the youth union members and students, as well as creating a source of enthusiastic, dynamic, and creative young Party members for the Party...

The emulation of teaching and learning excellence in schools and the province's education and training work have achieved many important accomplishments in recent times. In the 2023-2024 school year, the province had 434 students achieving the "Three Good Students" title at the school level, 24 students achieving the "Three Good Students" title at the provincial level; 29 university students achieving the "Five Good Students" title and 5 "Five Good Student Groups" at the provincial level... This is an important basis for students to be considered for the "January Star" award, the "Five Good Students" award, and the "Three Good Students" award at the central level, and for consideration for Party membership. Particularly from March 2024, after the implementation of the "Youth Dedicated to the Party" movement, the entire Youth Union had 487 out of 907 outstanding members recommended for Party membership, including 88 student Party members. At the 2024 National High School Excellent Student Examination, Quang Ninh ranked 8th for the first time in the top 10 provinces and cities with the highest percentage of excellent students nationwide.
