Quang Ninh province donates over 5 billion VND to help the people of Cuba.

In response to the plan of the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee and the direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, from September 14th to October 16th, the Quang Ninh Provincial Red Cross launched a campaign to raise awareness and mobilize support to help the Cuban people overcome difficulties caused by the pandemic, natural disasters, and the embargo policy.

Leaders of the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee received 4.3 billion VND in donations for the Cuban people in the first phase and presented a plaque acknowledging the generous contribution to the Quang Ninh Provincial Red Cross on October 14, 2025.

Within just one month of its launch, the program received a positive response from 795 organizations and individuals in the province (including 115 collectives and 680 individuals), with a total donation of 5,094,193,024 VND. Of this amount, 4,270,980,524 VND was transferred through the Provincial Red Cross Fund account, and 823,212,500 VND was transferred directly to the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee account. All donated funds from the Provincial Red Cross Fund were transferred by the Red Cross leadership to the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee for distribution to the Cuban people, ensuring the funds were used for the intended purpose, transparently, and effectively.

This fundraising program is of practical significance, promptly implemented by the Quang Ninh Provincial Red Cross Society in line with the directives of the Central Government and local Party committees. As a result, it has created a widespread impact in the community, receiving the support and cooperation of agencies, units, businesses, social organizations, and a large number of people and philanthropists in the province.

Every contribution, however small, helps to illuminate the beautiful tradition of compassion of the Vietnamese people, especially the spirit of solidarity and sharing among the people of the Quang Ninh mining region. This activity not only demonstrates a noble spirit of international solidarity but also contributes to deepening the special, loyal, and unwavering friendship between the Vietnamese and Cuban peoples.
