According to initial information, after eating sticky rice cakes for breakfast at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School, Kim Ngan Commune, many students showed signs of stomachache. Immediately after that, the school coordinated with parents to take 40 students to Le Thuy Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment and monitoring.
The leaders of the Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee were present at the hospital to encourage students and parents whose children were being treated there; at the same time, they directed the commune's functional forces to clarify the cause of the incident. Basically, the health of the students has stabilized, many of them were brought home by their parents after a treatment session at the hospital.
It is known that the whole school has 70 boarding students, eating at the school’s communal kitchen, and the school staff directly prepares and cooks the food. This is the first time this incident has happened.
Currently, the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Quang Tri province is sending officers and employees and coordinating with Kim Ngan Commune Police to clarify the cause of the incident.
