Nearly 517 billion VND for social benefits

With the goal of sustainable poverty reduction and the spirit of "Leaving no one behind", Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province have focused on directing and promptly and fully implementing social security policies.

The Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction by 2025 and directed the early allocation of public funds to effectively implement the program. Many contents have been implemented to promote livelihood creation and increase income for poor households and people in difficult areas. Social protection work has been regularly implemented, including paying subsidies to 143,582 subjects with a total budget of 516.9 billion VND. The elderly and children have been cared for; the province has spent more than 26.5 billion VND to celebrate the longevity of 72,166 elderly people and mobilized social resources to help and support children in especially difficult circumstances.

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses was vigorously implemented, supporting the construction and repair of 10,801 houses (achieving 100% of the plan). Of which, 1,475 houses were for families of meritorious people and relatives of martyrs; housing support from the National Target Programs for Sustainable Poverty Reduction and Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas was 3,496 houses; support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households was 5,830 houses.

Through policies and programs, the living standards of people in the province have been improved. Up to now, the poverty rate in the province has decreased to 2.75% and near-poor households to 3.14%.
