Quang Tri has 3 more national intangible cultural heritages

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just decided to recognize three traditional festivals of Quang Tri province as national intangible cultural heritage.

Three traditional festivals have been recognized: the Kim Phong Pagoda-Than Dinh Mountain Festival in Truong Son commune; the Khai Ha Festival in Tuong Son village, Ba Don ward; and the boat racing festival on the Gianh River.

These are traditional festivals that reflect the unique cultural identity of each region within Quang Tri province. Along with the three newly recognized heritage sites, Quang Tri province now has a total of 18 heritage sites included in the national list of intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and two heritage sites recognized by UNESCO as representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The registration of intangible cultural heritage as a national heritage site will contribute to strengthening local resources, programs, and projects in heritage preservation investment. At the same time, it will be an important cultural resource for Quang Tri province to continue exploiting and promoting heritage values ​​in its sustainable tourism development strategy.
