Recently, the emulation movements "Women doing good business ", " Women actively studying, working creatively, building happy families" has attracted a large number of cadres, members, and women in Quang Yen town to actively participate in response. Ms. Hoang Thi Anh, a member of the Minh Hoa Women's Association, Dong Mai Ward, Quang Yen Town, with the success of the Korean milk grape growing model, opening up a new direction in economic development, increasing family income, is one of the typical female members with good economic performance.

Entering the Korean milk grape garden of the family of women's union member Ms. Hoang Thi Anh in Minh Hoa area, Dong Mai ward (Quang Yen town), we could not help but be surprised. Enjoy the green vineyard, every tree is full of fruit.
In previous years, on an area of more than 4,600m2 of hilly garden land, Ms. Hoang Thi Anh's family had more than 30 years of experience growing fruit trees of all kinds such as green-skinned grapefruit, custard-apple, red-fleshed dragon fruit... However, due to the unsuitability of the soil and limited planting techniques, the trees were susceptible to many pests and diseases, the output was unstable, and the economic efficiency was not high. In early 2023, after many times of searching for information, it was found that the model of growing Korean milk grapes (also known as Peony grapes) is an imported grape variety (large seedless fruit, crunchy, when ripe, it has a rich sweet taste, mixed with a bit of fat, characteristic milky aroma), with many outstanding advantages in productivity, so Ms. Hoang Thi Anh's family boldly invested in converting from traditional fruit trees to growing 130 milk grape trees on an area of 3 sao, with the determination to "conquer" and expand the new grape variety to serve consumers at reasonable prices.

Her family has invested in an automatic irrigation system, a trellis system, and a sturdy transparent nylon dome, which are prerequisites for grapes to grow well. The family also designed a dome with a sturdy iron frame, 3m high, and underneath, a black tarpaulin covering the entire base of the tree, at an initial cost of more than 1 billion VND. The entire cultivation process is strictly controlled, minimizing the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Instead, Anh's family uses biological pesticides and makes their own organic fertilizers to fertilize the plants.
Ms. Hoang Thi Anh shared: “Korean milk grapes are also known as “noble” grapes because this grape variety is very expensive and difficult to care for. To grow this type of plant, growers must strictly follow technical measures and care methods to help the plant grow smoothly. While working, studying and gaining experience, my family learned from the mass media about the gardening process, planting and caring techniques, techniques for the plant to produce many flowers and fruit... To produce many beautiful clusters of large, even fruit, when the grapes bear young fruit, we must prune the fruit and shape the bunch. During the growing process, we must also pay attention to the weather factor to ensure safety from the time of flowering, so that the grapes can produce fruit evenly and in large quantities.”

After 2 years of being planted on the land of Dong Mai, Quang Yen town, applying the right process and modern techniques, the Korean milk grape variety on the hill garden area of Ms. Anh's family has grown well, produced many fruits, the fruit quality is delicious, relatively suitable for the local climate and soil conditions, opening up new prospects for economic development. Ms. Hoang Thi Anh shared more: "With an area of more than 3 sao, now my family's milk grape garden has started to produce the first crop. The bunches of fruit are large and uniform, sweet, fragrant with milk, ensuring food hygiene and safety, the yield is estimated at 2 tons/sao and is purchased at the garden at a price of 300,000 - 350,000 VND/kg".
From the initial area, by 2024, Ms. Hoang Thi Anh's family had expanded by 400 grape seedlings planted on an area of 10 sao. It is known that in order to expand the grape growing area, Ms. Hoang Thi Anh's family received support from the Women's Union of Dong Mai Ward, which stood up to guarantee the loan capital for job creation from the Social Policy Bank with an amount of 70 million VND. From that loan, Ms. Hoang Thi Anh's family had more conditions and funds to develop the Korean milk grape growing model. Up to now, the expanded milk grape garden has grown and developed well, promising successful crops.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong, President of the Women's Union of Dong Mai Ward, Quang Yen Town, said: "Ms. Hoang Thi Anh is a female member who is always curious, creative and bold in changing the crop structure. With a large area of hill gardens in Dong Mai Ward, Ms. Anh's family has actively experimented with planting many different types of fruit trees for many years to increase the value of the production land area. However, the Korean milk grape growing model has been implemented and has shown its suitability to the local soil. And through initial assessment, the Korean milk grape variety has a lot of potential for development and replication of the model to diversify agricultural crops right in her hometown. The Korean milk grape growing model of Ms. Anh's family has been organized by the Women's Union of Dong Mai Ward for many female members in the area to visit and learn, thereby helping women boldly bring new and effective crops to enrich their homeland. In addition to developing the family economy, Ms. Hoang Thi Anh is also a A female member actively participates in movements and campaigns launched by the Women's Union at all levels, participates in local production emulation movements, and unites to build a cultural life in residential areas.
Actively choosing crops with high economic value, being the first to bring Korean milk grapes to grow in local fields, the family of women's union member Hoang Thi Anh has achieved initial success on the path to getting rich in her homeland. Through this, it also opens up prospects for expanding production, contributing to diversifying crops for good productivity and quality, achieving high economic efficiency in local agricultural production.
