King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan was born on February 21, 1980; graduated with a Master's degree in Philosophy from Oxford University (UK).
He has represented Bhutan in a number of international events such as attending the 27th United Nations General Assembly; attending the 60th Anniversary of the King of Thailand's accession to the throne...
On December 9, 2006, he was announced to be enthroned by his father King Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
On November 1, 2008, he was officially crowned the 5th King of Bhutan.
