Determined to build Hoa Long commune to meet new rural model standards

After the merger, the Party Committee of Hoa Long commune continues to promote the spirit of solidarity, democracy, innovative thinking, dynamism, and creativity, maintaining its core leadership role in implementing political, economic and social tasks in the locality, contributing to the goal of building an increasingly developed commune.

OVERCOME DIFFICULTIES

Hoa Long commune was newly established on the basis of merging Lai Vung town with the communes of Long Hau, Long Thang, and Hoa Long. During the past term, inheriting and promoting the achievements of the localities before the merger, the Party Committee and the people of Hoa Long commune made efforts to overcome difficulties, unite, lead, manage and achieve and exceed most of the main targets, creating positive changes in all areas.

The Party building work was seriously implemented by the Party Committee; the quality of Party cell activities was improved, self-criticism and criticism were carried out regularly; the model of "Four-good Party cells" and "Four-good grassroots Party organizations" was widely deployed. Notably, during the term, 225/173 new Party members were admitted, reaching 130% of the assigned target, bringing the total number of Party members of the entire Party Committee to 1,905. The work of inspection, supervision, enforcement of Party discipline, prevention and combat of corruption, negativity and waste was seriously implemented.

Local socio -economic activities have developed. Notably, the project to restructure the agricultural sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development associated with new rural construction and civilized urban construction has been implemented.

The crop structure has been shifted from rice to vegetables and fruit gardens to 1,906.87 hectares; the annual rice yield has reached 10.85 tons/hectare; the area code for fruit trees and vegetables has been certified with an area of over 1,356 hectares.

Models: Agricultural production cooperatives (oranges, tangerines, crops...), high-quality rice cultivation in a circular direction are widely replicated. In addition, investment in infrastructure and environmental protection is focused on; the quality of education and health care is improved; poverty reduction, job creation, and social security are achieved good results; national defense and security are maintained; people's material and spiritual lives are improved; the poverty rate is reduced to below 1.5%.

DETERMINED TO BRING HOA LONG COMMUNE TO COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT

Comrade Huynh Minh Thuc - Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of Hoa Long Commune Party Committee, said: "Immediately after the establishment of the new Hoa Long commune, the Commune Party Committee quickly stabilized the organizational structure and urgently prepared for the 1st Congress of Hoa Long Commune Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.

Up to now, the Commune Party Committee has completed the following stages: Drafting documents, organizing to collect opinions from branches, affiliated Party Committees, cadres, Party members, veteran revolutionaries, and people contributing documents; propagating about the Congress... All basic preparations have been completed on schedule, ready to organize the Congress on August 21 and 22.

The first Congress of the Hoa Long Commune Party Committee is a political event of historical significance, marking an important turning point in the process of building and developing the locality on a new path. This is an opportunity for cadres, party members and people to express their thoughts and expectations to the local leaders. Comrade Nguyen Huu Duoc, a retired cadre residing in Hamlet 1, Hoa Long Commune, said: “The merger of 4 commune-level administrative units into the new Hoa Long Commune is a correct policy, opening up many opportunities and potentials for the locality.

In the new term, I expect the cadres and leaders of Hoa Long commune to promote the spirit of internal solidarity within the Party and the People to create strength and breakthroughs in the future. Orientation to build Hoa Long commune into an urban center, invest in infrastructure development, coordinate with Sa Dec ward to develop tourism to visit Sa Dec flower village combined with pink grapefruit garden to develop socio-economy, improve people's lives".

After its establishment, Hoa Long commune opened up a new space with great potential for agricultural economy with specialized fruit growing areas, tourism development, and synchronous infrastructure. However, it also opened up many challenges for the commune. In the 2025 - 2030 term, the commune set out 15 main targets, 6 tasks and solutions, 4 development breakthroughs, in which it strives to have no poor households (according to multidimensional standards) by 2030, the commune will meet the model new rural standards...
