(QBĐT) - On April 9, the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) of Le Thuy district announced its decision to establish a youth volunteer team to teach English for free to students in difficult circumstances in Le Thuy district.
The youth volunteer team teaching English for free to students in difficult circumstances consists of 12 members and young people with good English skills. Their task is to support and guide students in using materials, learning and communicating in English.
Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Le Thuy District, Dang Thai Vu Hiep, said that this is an activity jointly implemented by the District Red Cross Society, the Vietnam Youth Union of Le Thuy District, and the Le Thuy Foreign Language Center with the aim of improving English proficiency for young people, especially children in rural areas with difficult circumstances who have little opportunity to learn English; at the same time, creating a practical environment for union members and young people with a passion for English to experience, practice, improve their skills and participate in volunteer activities for the community.
On this occasion, the coordinating units launched an English reading room at the cultural house of Xuan Lai village, Xuan Thuy commune; Le Thuy Foreign Language Center donated 300 English-Vietnamese bilingual books to the reading room; the District Red Cross and participating agencies presented 22 cartons of milk to students.
