| Comrade Phan Xuan Dung, former member of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, delivered a speech. |
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Phan Xuan Dung, former member of the Central Committee of the Party and Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, affirmed: "The book bears an extremely sacred title. The work has excellently portrayed the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers - those who are always loyal to the Party, devoted to the people, tested by fire through long-term resistance wars, and now continue to shine brightly in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland."
Besides the generals who made history, the book "For the People, Selflessly" devotes a significant portion to portraying General Phan Van Giang, a member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defense. Through the pages of the book, General Phan Van Giang emerges not only as a leader and military strategist with sharp strategic thinking, but also as a humble, empathetic general who was always close to the people.
In his speech, Comrade Phan Xuan Dung recalled the deeply moving image of General Phan Van Giang: wading through mud and wading through raging waters to directly supervise rescue efforts for the people during the days when storms and floods besieged Thai Nguyen and other provinces and cities. The command, issued from the general's heart: "When the people need us, the army must be there; we must not wait for the people to call before coming," touched millions of hearts and is a vivid testament to the spirit of selflessness for the people.
It was precisely because of this deep, heartfelt connection that General Phan Van Giang received the absolute trust and affection of the people. The land of Thai Nguyen is always proud to have twice nominated General Phan Van Giang to run for National Assembly representative in the province, with very high vote percentages. This absolute trust is a well-deserved recognition from the Party, the State, and the entire nation of his talent and virtue.
Holding the book launch ceremony in the heroic space of Military Region 1 – on the land of Thai Nguyen, the revolutionary base, the "Capital of the Thousand Winds" of yesteryear – carries profound political and cultural significance.

One of the most beautiful moments of the event was the book presentation ceremony for the book "For the People, We Forget Ourselves," given to delegates and especially to the teachers and students of Viet Bac Highland High School. Handing these historical books directly to the younger generation carries immense humanitarian significance. This is not just the donation of a physical publication, but the transfer of invaluable spiritual heritage. These books will be a guiding light, nurturing revolutionary ideals, igniting national pride, and fostering a sense of civic responsibility in the students – the future owners of the country.
