To ensure children have a safe holiday.

Once school hours are over, parents and teachers are concerned about how to ensure children have a safe holiday, avoiding potential accidents and risks that may arise from their familiar daily routines.

Students from Phung Chi Kien Kindergarten participated in a skit promoting traffic safety knowledge at the "Children and Traffic Safety" competition.

Recently, Phung Chi Kien Kindergarten (Bac Kan Ward) held its "Children and Traffic Safety Day" event. From early morning, the schoolyard was filled with the sounds of music and children's laughter. Colorful paper hats, models of traffic lights, and traffic signs were vividly decorated, and the children eagerly awaited the start of the program.

The event attracted 354 students. Each class formed a team of eight children. The young contestants confidently took to the stage, singing, dancing, reciting poetry, and performing skits about everyday knowledge such as looking before crossing the road, wearing a helmet while riding a motorbike, or stopping at a red light.

In the "Smart Kids" section, many hands were raised quickly to identify traffic signs. The "Who's Faster?" game livened up the schoolyard as the children distinguished between right and wrong behavior while participating in traffic. In particular, the individual "Ring the Golden Bell" competition generated much laughter and surprise thanks to the children's quick and confident answers.

Sitting in the parent-teacher section, Ms. Nguyen Tra My, from Group 7A, Bac Kan Ward, attentively watched her daughter's performance. She recounted that after some awareness-raising activities at school, her daughter had started paying more attention when walking on the street. Now, she recognizes some traffic signs and reminds adults to look for green and red lights.

As they get older, many students start commuting to school on electric bikes, scooters, or are more independent in their transportation. Therefore, traffic safety lessons are no longer limited to recognizing traffic signs but are gradually shifting to self-protection skills.

At Tien Phong Secondary School (Van Xuan Ward), during the past school year, the school collaborated with traffic police three times to organize traffic safety awareness campaigns for students. These extracurricular sessions were no longer dry and focused solely on traffic regulations.

Students were taught about common situations they might encounter on their way to school, how to identify risks, distinguish between different types of vehicles, and learn about regulations relevant to their age group.

During adolescence, when the need for independent transportation increases, equipping oneself with the necessary skills is no longer just a general reminder. A moment of carelessness, recklessness, or overconfidence can turn familiar routes into potential hazards.

Ms. Dang Thi Thuy Duong, Principal of Tien Phong Secondary School, shared: "The school always pays attention to life skills education , including traffic safety skills for students. We hope that the students understand the Road Traffic Law and gradually develop a sense of self-protection, knowing how to behave correctly when participating in traffic."

At the high school level, when many students reach the age of 16 and are old enough to drive motorcycles, the skill requirements need to be more specific. In the 2025-2026 school year, Thai Nguyen No. 2 Ethnic Boarding High School collaborated with the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) and businesses to organize a specialized workshop on safe motorcycle driving skills for students.

In addition to the theoretical aspects of traffic regulations and safety risks, students also get hands-on practice in vehicle control, handling situations, and safe driving techniques.

Summer is a time when children, along with their families and friends, participate in fun activities and new experiences. However, adults still hope that children will remember to wear a helmet correctly, observe their surroundings when crossing the road, and obey traffic signals.
