On August 4th, at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, the Vietnam Disability Fashion Show 2025 (VDFS), themed "The Shape of Will," officially launched.
At the show, the models confidently and professionally showcased five fashion collections, each tailored to their individual body types and personalities.
The organizers launched the charitable project "Kindness Wardrobe," which includes a series of practical activities aimed at people with disabilities, such as building wardrobes for people with disabilities at vocational training centers, disability associations, schools, etc.; mobilizing donations of recycled fabric; and calling for the design of suitable clothing for people with disabilities.
This is the first professional fashion show in Vietnam dedicated to people with disabilities, marking a special milestone in the journey of celebrating the beauty of willpower and resilience.
The program contributes to promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in cultural, artistic, and social life, where the spotlight shines on the hidden beauty within each individual.
The program is organized by HGI Group in collaboration with the Hanoi Association of People with Disabilities and the Vietnam Center for Vocational Education and Capacity Development for People with Disabilities. The two ambassadors accompanying the program are Miss Vietnam 2024 Ha Truc Linh and speaker Nguyen Son Lam.
This is the first specialized fashion event held in Vietnam, featuring 54 models with disabilities from various regions. The program aims to celebrate the diverse beauty of people, spread humanitarian values, and promote equality and social inclusion.
Speaking at the program's launch, founder and designer Ngo Diem Huong, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that this is not simply a fashion show, but a stage for willpower.
When fashion and art meet in a museum space, it's not just a show, but a message: every person, regardless of their unique appearance, has the right to shine in their own way.
The program contributes to writing a new, humane chapter for Vietnamese fashion, where beauty is not measured by physique but is perceived through resilience and belief.
The organizers hope that the message "People with disabilities don't need pity; they need opportunities to be recognized, to shine, and to be themselves" will spread widely, shared Ms. Ngo Diem Huong.
The event is expected to be an inspiring starting point for a fashion platform that is rich in human values, contributing to promoting social inclusion, for a future where no one is left behind.
