On January 7th, the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province announced the conclusions of the Chairman of the People's Committee from a dialogue with officials and members of the Women's Union at all levels in the province in 2023. This included reviewing the situation of unemployed women returning to their localities to provide appropriate support.
Accordingly, the dialogue included 16 opinions, suggestions, and proposals from female delegates, focusing on the following groups of issues: job creation, labor export, economic development support, loan support, poverty reduction, and the implementation of social security policies.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province directed a review of the number of unemployed women returning to the locality in order to provide support and create suitable jobs.
According to the concluding announcement, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested the Provincial Women's Union to review the number of women in need of overseas employment and coordinate with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to develop a plan for providing support as prescribed. It is necessary to review cases of female workers from industrial zones outside the province who have lost their jobs and returned to the locality; to understand their specific circumstances, production resources, and needs for employment and training; and to clearly identify the loan needs of these women, specifying the projects and products they will use for, in order to coordinate with relevant agencies and advise the competent authorities on consideration and resolution.
According to the Project for sending workers from Ca Mau province to work abroad in the period 2022-2025, in the first 10 months of 2023, 392 out of 400 workers went to work abroad under contract. These were mainly unskilled laborers in industries such as construction, mechanics, agriculture , nursing, food processing, and manufacturing.
Also in 2023, the Ca Mau Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs reviewed legal documents and approved more than 30 businesses operating in the service of sending workers abroad to work, in coordination with the Provincial Employment Service Center, to provide recruitment counseling for Ca Mau province workers to work abroad under contract.
