Rashford begins negotiations with Barca

According to Spanish media, Marcus Rashford has begun preliminary negotiations with Barcelona over a possible transfer in the summer of 2025.

Mundo Deportivo reports that initial discussions between Rashford and Barcelona have already taken place. Rashford has enlisted the help of Pini Zahavi, hoping that the veteran agent's connections with the Catalan club and its president Joan Laporta will help speed up the negotiations. Zahavi also represents coach Hansi Flick and striker Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona considered taking Rashford on loan during the January transfer window. However, Rashford's £350,000-a-week wages were a major stumbling block. The England international was reportedly willing to take a pay cut to complete the deal.

Sport revealed that Barcelona's board highly appreciates Rashford's ability to play in many different positions in attack. If there is an opportunity to sign the player, the club will not miss it.

Rashford was loaned out to Aston Villa in the January transfer window after being dropped from the first team under Ruben Amorim. Although the loan deal expires at the end of the season, the 27-year-old feels he has no future at Old Trafford with Amorim in charge.
