Since joining the first team, Rashford has worn three different shirt numbers, including 39, 19, and 10. He officially received the number 10 shirt at Old Trafford in 2018.

The decision to strip Rashford of his shirt number comes as the English striker, along with four other players, have expressed their desire to leave Old Trafford during this summer's transfer window. Besides Rashford, this group includes Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia.

Manager Ruben Amorim has announced that all five players may miss next week's pre-season training camp to address issues regarding their futures. Manchester United has also pledged to provide medical and rehabilitation support to this group of players if needed.
