Spreading the spirit of Independence Day in every village

All the roads in Hat Mon commune were decorated with flags and flowers, the atmosphere of excitement spread everywhere. At the Cultural - Information and Sports Center of the commune, many women took photos to preserve beautiful memories on the occasion of National Day among the "forest of flags" fluttering. Nearby, on the entrance road, a large LED screen was installed to serve the people to watch the parade live from Ba Dinh Square.

According to Ms. Hoang Thi Thoan, an officer of the Commune Culture - Information and Sports Center, in Hat Mon Commune, many days before the holiday, people together decorated their houses and hung flags in front of the gate. “September 2 is not only a holiday, but also a day for us to remember Uncle Ho and the previous generation. Seeing the flags fluttering, everyone feels excited,” Ms. Hoang Thi Thoan shared.

In O Dien commune, on the occasion of National Day this year, the commune set up a stage, organized a mass art night and awarded prizes for the "Check-in with the national flag" contest, attracting thousands of people to participate and cheer enthusiastically. Ms. Bui Thi Quyen, Director of the Commune Culture - Information and Sports Center, said: "The mass art festival aims to educate about the glorious revolutionary tradition, arouse pride, and create a new spirit for people to unite to build their homeland to develop more and more". Performances such as: "Vietnamese Spirit" by cluster 9 - Tan Lap, "Party Flag" by cluster 2 - Tan Lap, "Song Offering to Uncle Ho" by Huu Cuoc village or "Lac Hong Bloodline" by cluster 9 - Ha Mo... brought many emotions to the audience.

In particular, the contest “Check-in with the national flag” attracted more than 200 entries from officials, union members, students and people. Beautiful photos were posted on the Fanpage “O Dien Ha Noi ” to vote, spread love for the homeland, encourage people to participate in patriotic emulation movements, digital transformation, and preserve cultural values ​​in the integration period.

Welcoming Independence Day this year, the capital and the whole country have many new features. That is, the whole country has officially operated the 2-level local government model (from July 1, 2025) with the aim of streamlining the apparatus, improving effectiveness and efficiency, and most importantly, getting closer to the people, meeting the requirements of better management and serving the people better. Many practical cultural and sports activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2 took place in all villages, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere among the people.

In Dan Phuong commune, the final of the first Dan Phuong Commune U11 Football Tournament in 2025 attracted more than 100 young players and hundreds of fans. In the stands, cheers mixed with bright red flags made the holiday atmosphere even more exciting.

What is easily noticeable in many suburban communes this year is the change in the appearance of the countryside. Clean concrete roads, blooming flowers along the roadsides; bright lighting systems at night; improved economic life… all add to the atmosphere of celebrating Independence Day.

Mr. Tran Quang Huy, Head of the Front Work Committee of An Hien village, Quang Bi commune, was moved: “Every time the National Day season passes, I see my hometown change. From the road to the cultural house to the spacious school, all thanks to the correct policies of the Party, the State and the consensus of the people. I am so proud!”

Show gratitude, connect the community

Not only a day of joy, National Day September 2 is also an occasion for localities to carry out many gratitude activities. Before the holiday, leaders and people of Hat Mon commune offered incense at the Martyrs' Cemetery, expressing gratitude to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Hat Mon Commune Nguyen Dinh Son said: "The gratitude activity is not only a noble gesture, but also educates the younger generation about the tradition of patriotism, reminding them of the responsibility to succeed their ancestors."

In Phuc Loc commune, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee visited and presented gifts to 9 households in especially difficult circumstances. "Although the gifts were not large in material terms, they contained sentiments and contributed to encouraging people to overcome difficulties and improve their lives," said Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Doan Quoc Truong.

In particular, 2025 will be a milestone when all people across the country will receive gifts from the Government for the first time, with an amount of 100,000 VND. In the villages on the outskirts of Hanoi, the atmosphere of receiving gifts is extremely bustling. People are chattering to each other, "Have you received the gifts yet?", "What will you buy with the Government's gift money?". Ms. Nguyen Thi Huy in O Dien commune excitedly said: "Although the amount of money is small, it contains the special affection of the Party and the State, contributing to making the holiday warmer and the solidarity of the people even more united."

This year's National Day, September 2nd, follows a two-day weekend, so workers have four days off. Many families gathered together to cook delicious dishes; friends held class reunions; annual meetings; and many families in many neighborhoods had a meal together filled with love, contributing to making the holiday warmer and the solidarity of fellow countrymen even stronger.

On National Day September 2 this year, in all the suburbs of Hanoi, joy and pride are present on every street, every roof and in the eyes and smiles of the people.
