
On the evening of October 19, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Hanoi Party Committee solemnly held the 8th Press Award Ceremony on cultural development and building elegant and civilized Hanoians in 2025.
This is an activity of profound political and social significance, practically commemorating the 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025), welcoming the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee and the 14th National Congress of the Party.
According to the Organizing Committee, the works participating in this year's Award focus on reflecting the major policies and orientations of the Hanoi Party Committee in developing culture and building the capital's people in the new period; introducing good models, creative ways of doing things, good people and good deeds in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. In addition, there are also many works that play an important role in discovering and reflecting on shortcomings, contributing to adjusting and perfecting mechanisms and policies; effectively implementing Program No. 06-CTr/TU on cultural development, improving the quality of human resources, and building elegant and civilized Hanoians in the 2021-2025 period.
The Organizing Committee received 352 works from 35 press agencies, including 7 Hanoi press agencies and 28 central, ministerial, sectoral and local press agencies, with all types of press.
The Final Council then met and unanimously selected 33 best press works to award prizes (including 3 A prizes, 5 B prizes, 10 C prizes and 15 Encouragement prizes); at the same time, 2 typical press agencies with many quality works to participate in the Prize were also selected: Vietnam Television and Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper.
Specifically, the works that won the A Prize include: "The capital Hanoi - the lasting imprints" by the group of authors Phi Nguyen Thuy Linh, Duong Van Thuan, Nguyen Viet Cuong, Truong Tuan Nghia, Nguyen Minh Tri, Ho Viet Thai, Vu Hien; VTV2 channel, Vietnam Television; "Culture is the foundation and driving force for the journey of historical transformation" by the group of authors Nguyen Nguyet Thu, Nguyen Ngoc Chung; Economic and Urban Newspaper; "Hanoi - Building a new model in the era of growth" by the group of authors Tran Hong Van, Hoang Le Quyen, Doan Anh Tuan, Nguyen Tuan Phong, Vu Ngoc Ha; Hanoi Moi Newspaper.
Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Doan Toan, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Hanoi Party Committee, affirmed: After eight seasons of organization, the Press Award on cultural development and building elegant and civilized Hanoians has become a prestigious brand of the capital's press, a forum to honor the intelligence, dedication and social responsibility of the team of journalists in the work of building and developing Hanoi's culture and people.
Many works not only reflect reality but are also valuable sources of information for the City's propaganda, research and cultural policy making; at the same time, they contribute to spreading good values, arousing pride, creativity and the desire to contribute of Hanoians.
With innovative and creative forms of expression, the press continues to concretize the Party's policies and resolutions, promote good models and effective practices, honor outstanding collectives and individuals in the movement "Good people, good deeds", the campaign "Hanoi people behave beautifully" contributing to building a "Cultured-Civilized-Modern" capital.
Mr. Nguyen Doan Toan believes that with the spirit of innovation, creativity and social responsibility, the team of journalists in the capital and the whole country will continue to accompany the City in the cause of building and developing the culture and people of Hanoi.
Each press work and each media activity will be a bridge to spread humanistic values, contributing to making Thang Long-Hanoi culture famous, worthy of its position as a center of convergence and cultural spread of the whole country.
