Heavy rain caused a landslide at Km2+200, Provincial Road 152 (section through the turnoff to Y Linh Ho); knocked down an electric pole in the Sa Pa 2 residential area, endangering people and vehicles when moving.
The flood also caused landslides, affecting the structure of the house of Mr. Thao A Giang, in Sa Pa 4 residential group. Immediately after the disaster, the local government supported Mr. Giang's family to move to a safe place.
On the morning of August 26, Sa Pa ward also announced, propagated, and mobilized 60 households and 9 businesses, motels, worker camps, as well as cold-water fish farms located in the dangerous area to move to a safe place.
The People's Committee of Sa Pa Ward also directed functional branches, agencies and units to urgently overcome the consequences of natural disasters, install warning signs in landslide areas and areas at risk of landslides; handle fallen electric poles to ensure safety for people and vehicles; and organize traffic regulation on affected routes.
Inform, propagate and mobilize people in areas at high risk of landslides to evacuate to safety.

At Km 40+00, National Highway 279 in Minh Luong commune, a landslide also occurred at Km 40+00, National Highway 279 (section through Pom Khen village). It is estimated that the volume of landslide soil and rock from the positive slope was about 100m3, burying the entire roadbed, causing traffic disruption from Van Ban commune to Minh Luong commune and to Lai Chau province.
