In 2025, Hanoi Capital is honored to be the central destination of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), and the 71st anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025). This is not only an occasion to honor the heroic historical milestones of the nation, but also a special opportunity to promote the image of the capital Hanoi "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" to domestic and international friends. Towards these important events, the capital's tourism industry has launched a series of unique and diverse new products to create more attraction for the destination of Hanoi.
According to Ms. Dang Huong Giang, Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, tourist areas and attractions in the area have proactively built many experiential tourism products associated with the values of heritage, relics, craft villages, indigenous culture and contemporary life. These include tourism products at Ha Mo (Dan Phuong district), the "Nam Thang Long Heritage Road" route passing through Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Phu Xuyen; the community tourism model in An Phu commune (My Duc) or the rural experience model in Tich Loc commune (Phuc Tho).
In addition, Hanoi also introduced the night tourism product “Tran Vu Bell” at Quan Thanh Temple, the unique 5-gate tourist train route, the program “Discovering Ba Vi Identity” with many experiences about Muong and Dao culture… Ecotourism and resort products in the suburbs are also focused on, aiming at sustainable development, combining the preservation of cultural values with the exploitation of health care tourism.
In particular, the Hanoi Department of Tourism has launched a set of 80 typical tourism products, divided into 8 thematic groups: Heritage - Culture - History; Ecology - Resort - Nature; Cuisine - Shopping - City; Art - Night - Creativity; Hotel - Accommodation; Transportation - Metro - Waterway - Aviation; Agriculture - Craft Village - New Rural Area; Regional - International Connection. This set of products both connects heritage and renews experiences with technology and creativity, contributing to expanding the capital's tourism space. Another highlight is the two-story tourist train "Nam Cua O - The Hanoi Train" scheduled to launch on August 19, 2025. Each train car is named after a familiar gate of Hanoi, combining nostalgic elements with culture, art, and typical cuisine, creating a pioneering product associated with the historical memory of Thang Long - Hanoi.
Along with tourism products, a series of cultural, artistic activities, exhibitions and thematic displays are also organized to serve the people and tourists. These include the exhibition “Sharp pen, red heart” at Hoa Lo Prison relic; the Capital gift fair at Thang Long Imperial Citadel; the thematic exhibition “Independence Autumn” at Ho Chi Minh Museum; exhibitions on the People’s Public Security, Popular Education, oil painting art, artificial intelligence in fine arts, etc. In addition, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site also introduces many unique displays such as House and Bunker D67, Cryptographic Bunker – General Staff, Hanoi Flag Tower, etc.
Large-scale art programs and performances will also take place at many key locations such as August Revolution Square, Hoan Kiem Lake, My Dinh, Thong Nhat Park... with spectacular plays such as "Under the glorious flag", "Fatherland in the heart", "I am a Vietnamese", "Hanoi - Forever shining Vietnamese aspiration", "Red memories - Historic August". In particular, the celebration, parade, and march of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 will be solemnly held at Ba Dinh Square, along with fireworks displays at 5 major locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, Van Quan Lake, Thong Nhat Park and My Dinh Stadium.
On this occasion, many museums open for free, many tourist attractions organize free experiential activities such as making mosaic paintings, making pottery at Bat Trang, visiting Thang Long Imperial Citadel, water puppet shows for children...
All of these have contributed to creating a joyful and colorful atmosphere in Hanoi, turning the capital into an attractive tourist destination during the 2025 festival season.
With careful preparation and many unique tourism products, Hanoi affirms its position as a safe, friendly, and unique destination, while sending a message about a capital that is always innovative, creative, and combines tradition with modernity, worthy of being the political and cultural center of the country and a trusted destination in the eyes of international friends.
