Inspired by the culture and brocade colors of the Ede people, designer Viet Hung used wool to create more than 30 designs for both men and women, mostly performance costumes.
The three main colors in the collection are black, red and white, each color has its own symbol. Black represents mother earth, the foundation of life; red is the flame of passion and luck; white is light, truth and is also the color of coffee flowers typical of the Central Highlands.
“The combination of these three colors is the color of life,” designer Viet Hung shared.
In addition to honoring the beauty of brocade through the art of handmade crochet, the designer also cleverly expresses the cultural exchange between the Kinh and Ede ethnic groups in every design line.
He said that to complete the collection, he "transformed into an Ede person" many times to better feel the spirit of each pattern and color.
Initially, the vedette position in the show was reserved for Miss Charm 2024 Rashmita Rasindran. However, due to unavoidable reasons, she could not participate as planned.
Replacing her was Miss Vietnam 2018 Tran Tieu Vy, the beauty who did not hesitate to accept the invitation from designer Viet Hung because of her love for the designer. Despite having little time to prepare, Tieu Vy still scored points with her professional demeanor, attractive charisma and confident steps on the catwalk.
Taking on the role of opening the collection are the Top 3 Miss Vietnam 2024 including Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Duy, Do Thi Phuong Thanh and Nguyen Thi Cam Ly.
In addition, the show also featured a cast of outstanding models and beauties such as Runner-up Hong Hanh, Le Nam, Ngoc Trang, Dieu Thao, Bolo Nguyen, Hoai Sa, Tuong San, Tran Quan, Mym Tran, ... and MC Quynh Hoa.
The performance of the collection “Colors of the Central Highlands” was combined with music to honor fashion and music. The song “ Xon xang van mang cao ban Dak Lak” performed by singer Quoc Dai praised the Central Highlands.
Designer Viet Hung - who has been working with brocade for over 20 years - shared: "This collection is a little bit of love I want to send to the Ede people - people with rich identity and deep love for the Central Highlands".
