Previously, the narrow dirt roads made travel extremely difficult for the villagers of Coc Ram, especially during the rainy season. Now, the road has been widened and paved with smooth concrete. This has made travel much more convenient for the villagers and opened up opportunities for trade and economic development.
Mr. Tan Khai Leng, head of Coc Ram village, shared: "Since 2017, the road leading into the village has received significant investment. Thanks to this, transporting agricultural products has become easier, saving time and costs. Improved transportation infrastructure has created momentum for the locality to improve the material and spiritual lives of its people."

Over the years, the people of Coc Ram have strived to transform their crop structure to increase their income. Since 2018, they have boldly shifted their crop structure, gradually reducing the area of low-yield corn and rice cultivation to bananas – a crop with higher economic value. To date, the entire village has over 80 hectares of bananas, of which more than 30 hectares are newly planted. Bananas have become the main crop, helping many households improve their livelihoods.
Due to the impact of banana diseases in 2021-2022, villagers proactively converted a portion of their banana plantations to tea cultivation to ensure a stable long-term income. Currently, the village's tea plantation covers approximately 40 hectares and continues to expand sustainably. In addition, people also cultivate cardamom, peanuts, and soybeans, while focusing on forest protection. Thanks to their diligence and adaptability, many households have risen out of poverty and built prosperous lives.

In 2025, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses brought about significant changes in Coc Ram village. Currently, Coc Ram village has 66 households, of which 23 have received support to replace their temporary houses. Sturdy roofs are gradually replacing the old, dilapidated houses, giving residents peace of mind and stable living conditions. This result reflects the concern of the Party and the State, as well as the collective efforts and unity of the entire community.
According to Chau Khai Pao, Secretary of the Coc Ram village Party branch: "The Party and the State have paid attention to and supported the people in eliminating temporary housing. With new houses, people can focus on doing business, developing the economy, and rising out of poverty."
We accompanied Mr. Chau Khai Pao to visit the family of Mrs. Phan Ta May, a household that received support to replace their temporary house. The new, sturdy house, completed just in time for the New Year, still smelled of fresh paint. Mrs. May emotionally shared: "We are very grateful for the government's support in providing us with a new house. Now that we have a solid home, we can focus on our work and provide for our children's education."
The renewed vitality in Coc Ram is also evident in the fact that all children of school age attend school regularly. Residents have raised their awareness of environmental hygiene, building sanitary toilets, and tidying their gardens, creating a green, clean, and beautiful living space. Healthcare is also a priority, with residents proactively seeking medical treatment and ensuring their children receive all necessary vaccinations.

Solidly built houses stand side-by-side in Coc Ram.
The community spirit is strong, with families readily helping each other in times of difficulty and working together to build a cultural life in the villages. Security and order are maintained, and the people comply well with the Party's guidelines and policies and the laws of the State.
These positive changes are creating a peaceful and united Coc Ram, where every citizen trusts and works together to build an increasingly prosperous homeland.
