The photo book, including: concise articles and more than 1,000 photos, rare documents that the unit has carefully exploited and selected from many sources across the country, helps readers systematically review the 100-year development of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press. The book records the arduous journey, resilience, dedication, creativity and dedication of the team of journalists through the ages; honoring the great contributions of the team of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
In addition, the book is also compiled and published in bilingual form, helping domestic readers better understand the history of the country's press and vividly introducing to international friends the proud development journey of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
The photo book “100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism (1925 - 2025)” was honored to receive General Secretary To Lam's congratulatory words in the first part: “On this special and meaningful occasion, I acknowledge and appreciate the coordination of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission and the Vietnam News Agency in directing the News Agency Publishing House to compile and launch the publication “100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism (1925 - 2025)”. The photo book has high documentary value, truly reflecting the glorious journey of revolutionary journalism. At the same time, it expresses infinite gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - an outstanding revolutionary journalist, and generations of journalists - soldiers who have been steadfast and devoted to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation”.
Member of the Politburo - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia has dedicated pages to the book: “One hundred years is not a long period of time in the thousands of years of history of the nation, but what the Vietnamese revolutionary press has done over the past century is truly something to be proud of. Journalists - soldiers have written golden pages of history, contributing significantly to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. As President Ho Chi Minh advised, “Press cadres are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and papers are their sharp weapons.”
Since the Thanh Nien Newspaper was founded by President Ho Chi Minh (June 21, 1925) until now, a century has passed, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has accompanied the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. Under the direct leadership and direction of the Party, in all periods, the revolutionary press has always been a sharp weapon on the ideological and cultural front, making an important contribution to the cause of fighting for national independence and unification, as well as in the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland; enhancing the position and image of Vietnam in the international arena.
The articles, images and documents in the book are presented in a general chronological order, reflecting the formation, development and growth of the Vietnamese revolutionary press, associated with each revolutionary stage of the Party and the nation; depicting historical milestones, achievements and silent sacrifices of the Vietnamese revolutionary press team over the past century.
The book is printed in 4 colors, bilingual in Vietnamese - English, 372 pages thick, 23x25cm in size, hardcover. The book's content is divided into 6 parts including: Vietnamese revolutionary press in the period of 1925 - 1945: Propaganda, enlightenment, agitation, gathering, organizing forces to fight for independence and freedom. Vietnamese revolutionary press in the period of 1945 - 1954: Serving the task of resistance and nation building. Vietnamese revolutionary press in the period of 1954 - 1975: Serving the cause of building and defending the socialist North, supporting the South, and unifying the country. Vietnamese revolutionary press in the period of 1975 - 1986: With the task of building and defending the country. Vietnamese revolutionary press in the period of 1986 - 2000: Serving the cause of comprehensive national renewal. Vietnam's revolutionary press in the period 2001 - 2025: Serving the cause of industrialization and modernization, creating the premise to bring the country into a new era - the era of national growth.
The book not only has valuable documentary value, but is also a vivid demonstration of the mettle, responsibility and dedication of journalists towards the Fatherland and the Vietnamese people. It honors the great contributions of the Vietnamese revolutionary journalists to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
