According to Korean media reports, Samsung’s Mobile Experience (MX) division and its Home Appliances division are collaborating to link Samsung Food with the Galaxy Ring. This means Samsung wants to provide meal and diet suggestions using the smart ring.
The Galaxy Ring was unveiled at the MWC show in Barcelona in February and is expected to launch in late July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 duo.
Samsung's smart ring has a relatively simple design including a screen, LED lights and no buttons. Galaxy Ring is equipped with four features including heart rate monitoring, sleep breathing, nighttime movements and sleep quality.

Samsung Galaxy Ring can become a personal diet coach. Galaxy Ring will track your activity during the day, then Samsung Food, linked to Samsung's AI vision smart refrigerator, will make dietary recommendations based on calorie consumption and BMI, a calculation based on height and weight that helps determine whether a person is normal weight, underweight, overweight or obese.
Samsung said it will rely on the Galaxy Ring's measured indexes from users, combine big data and AI to deeply analyze sleep, thereby providing suggestions to solve brain-related problems. Most people who have experienced it directly say that compared to wearing a smartwatch, the Galaxy Ring feels much more comfortable.
Samsung Food is a platform that is currently available in 104 countries and regions. It is the successor to the largest recipe-sharing social networking app Whisk before its acquisition in 2019. It could start suggesting meal plans after the Galaxy Ring launches, possibly in late July.
