On May 15th in Da Nang, Samsung Vietnam, in collaboration with the National Innovation Center (NIC), held the launch ceremony for the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 competition in the Central region. This activity is part of a series of roadshows to implement the competition across all three regions (North, Central, and South) to expand access to STEM education for junior and senior high school students nationwide.
This year, the competition focuses on three themes: sustainable environmental development through technology; combining sports and technology for social change; and applying technology for sustainable social development. Teams will develop ideas under the guidance of teachers, aiming to create solutions with practical applications in their local communities.
According to the organizers, following the nationwide launch ceremony in Hanoi in April, the program has been implemented in more than 13 provinces and cities. The organizers have also conducted over 20 workshops in schools to guide students in developing ideas, approaching design thinking, and building technology projects.
In parallel with in-person activities, the program also organized online training sessions with nearly 300 locations nationwide to support teachers and students in registering for courses, submitting assignments, and completing their competition projects.

According to Mr. Noh Seung Woo, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Samsung Vietnam, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is not just a technology competition, but also an "innovative playground" where students can apply STEM knowledge to solve practical problems in life.
"Every year, we witness many groundbreaking ideas and a clear maturation of students' technological thinking. This reinforces our belief in the potential of the young generation of Vietnam," he said.

2026 also marks the first time the program will be implemented in collaboration with NIC. According to Ms. Tan Anh, head of the Human Resources Development Department at NIC, the combination of management agencies, businesses, and schools is expected to create an effective cooperation model in promoting STEM education and developing human resources in technology.
“Samsung brings international experience and business resources, while NIC plays a connecting role in the national innovation ecosystem. This partnership will help the competition spread more widely to students across the country,” she said.

Mr. Tran Nguyen Minh Thanh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training, assessed that the competition not only helps students showcase their creative abilities but also creates an environment for practicing technological skills and problem-solving thinking in the context of digital transformation.
Samsung Solve for Tomorrow was initiated by Samsung globally in 2010 and launched in Vietnam in 2019. To date, the program has become an annual playground for students aged 12 to 18 who love technology and innovation.
This year, in addition to awards for outstanding teams, Samsung is also sponsoring a STEM Lab worth $60,000 for the school with the first-place team in each competition category. Schools that win second place will be equipped with interactive whiteboards to support learning and technology research activities within the school.
