Ready to welcome students back to school

From the lowlands to the mountains, schools in Quang Ninh are bustling to prepare for the opening day of school. Spacious school

Right before the 2025-2026 school year, the new construction of Trong Diem Secondary School (Ha Long Ward) was officially completed and ready for operation, bringing a modern look and ideal learning conditions for students. The atmosphere of excitement spread in every classroom, the students' eyes were bright with excitement to study in the new school.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan, Vice Principal of Trong Diem Secondary School, said: The newly built school covers an area of ​​over 1.5 hectares, with 45 classrooms and a total investment of 160 billion VND, meeting the learning needs of about 2,000 students. The spacious campus and schoolyard will facilitate extracurricular activities, flag-raising ceremonies and camping for students. The dream of teaching and learning in a new, spacious, modern and well-equipped school of the teachers and students of the school has now come true.

La Tuan Kiet, a student of class 6A8, Trong Diem Secondary School, excitedly shared: I am very happy and eager to study in this beautiful new school. The spacious learning environment helps me feel comfortable and love my school and class more. I hope the new school year will have many useful lessons and beautiful memories with friends and teachers.

Along with Trong Diem Secondary School, right before the opening day, the Provincial People's Committee also held an inauguration ceremony and put up a signboard for Quang Ha Secondary School (Quang Ha commune). The project includes a 4-storey theoretical building with 30 modern classrooms, fully equipped with teaching equipment; 2 blocks of subject buildings, each with 4 floors, serving specialized subjects; a 4-storey principal's house and library, with offices, traditional rooms and a spacious and comfortable library space; a multi-purpose house with an area of ​​over 600m², where physical, cultural and extracurricular activities take place.

In recent times, the provincial Department of Education and Training has actively deployed and seriously implemented Decision No. 1355/QD-UBND dated May 23, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee approving the project to renovate, repair, upgrade and complete the provincial education sector's facilities for the period 2022-2025; Decision No. 3135/QD-UBND dated October 27, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee approving the list of 22 schools to invest according to high-quality criteria proposed by localities for the period 2022-2025. Up to now, the whole province has had 12 schools completed and put into use.

Currently, localities are actively constructing, building, completing and putting into use the remaining schools according to the approved project. It is expected that by the end of 2025, there will be   more   4 schools (Hai Ha Secondary School, Dam Ha 1 Secondary School, Quang Ha High School, Bach Dang High School) are put into use; by the end of 2026, Tien Yen Secondary and High School will be completed and put into use.

Up to now, the province's educational network has developed quite diversely, with all types, with 632 educational facilities, basically meeting the learning needs of students, arranged in a streamlined manner to effectively use investment resources. The rate of solid classrooms has now reached 95.8% (an increase of 3.7% compared to 2024).   Schools and classrooms are invested in spacious and clean facilities to ensure teaching and learning for teachers and students, contributing to improving the quality of education, creating high-quality human resources, meeting the development requirements of the province in the new period.

Faith for a successful school year

Recently, the Department of Education and Training has issued instructions on organizing the school opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year, accordingly requiring educational institutions to actively review and prepare facilities, means, and equipment for teaching and learning activities, ensuring effective use and promoting the functions of invested and equipped items. Along with that, ensure that textbooks and local materials at all levels are in accordance with the set of books approved by the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training according to the 2018 General Education Program; absolutely do not let the situation of delay or shortage of textbooks and learning materials occur at the beginning of the new school year.

Schools coordinate with local organizations and unions to mobilize preschool children and students to attend classes and mobilize all resources to prepare for the new school year to best ensure students' right to education, and not let students be unable to go to school due to difficult economic conditions. Review and complete school regulations and rules, including regulations and rules on cultural behavior in schools for management staff, teachers, students and trainees; implement publicity, transparency and strict management of school revenues and expenditures in accordance with current regulations of law.

In particular, continue to fully implement the contents of traffic safety, prevention of accidents, injuries, drowning, drugs, fires, school violence, etc. in preschools, general education, and continuing education facilities; strengthen coordination between families - schools - society to organize care, nurturing, management, and education of children, students, and trainees to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Following the direction of the department, schools have also actively renovated their campuses to ensure they are green, clean, beautiful and safe. In addition, they have prepared essential conditions to ensure medical services and disease prevention before welcoming students back to school.

Careful preparations are an important foundation for the Quang Ninh Education and Training sector to effectively implement the goals of innovation and improve the quality of comprehensive education. With new confidence, enthusiasm and aspirations, in the new school year, teachers and students across the province will continue to promote their intelligence and enthusiasm, overcome difficulties and excellently complete assigned tasks.
