At the festival, workers were introduced to the recruiting professions as well as special requirements in the aviation industry to prepare themselves to receive new job opportunities.

Many attractive job positions

Facing the attractiveness of the aviation industry, at the Long Thanh Airport Job Fair, nearly 10,000 students from secondary schools, colleges, universities, high schools and workers in need of jobs, especially people whose land was recovered in the Long Thanh Airport area and neighboring areas, came to look for job opportunities. With more than 4,000 job positions such as: ground service, flight management, air transport..., workers have the opportunity to find suitable jobs as well as choose the right career with their abilities and meet the actual needs of the recruiting units.

Ms. Le Thi Hoang Oanh, Deputy General Director of Saigon Ground Services Joint Stock Company (SAGS) said: To meet the human resource needs in the initial phase of operating Long Thanh Airport, the company needs to recruit workers in positions such as: baggage service, equipment repair, aircraft cleaning staff and equipment operation, with an average income of 15-20 million VND/month. In addition, employees also enjoy benefits such as insurance according to regulations, periodic health check-ups, support for mid-shift meals, holiday and Tet bonuses and annual vacation trips . For capable employees, they will be considered for salary increases and opportunities for career development, promotions, etc.

Long Thanh Airport is a national key project. Therefore, the upcoming labor force must not only be sufficient in quantity but also must ensure high quality to meet the needs of the labor market with specific characteristics and standards of the aviation industry.

According to Ms. Le Thi Hoang Oanh, each job position has its own requirements for employees. Some positions only require high school graduation, diligence, good health, progress, and willingness to work shifts. The company also prioritizes employees from Dong Nai , especially those who want to work in the aviation industry. "After being recruited, employees will be trained to quickly access the job. In addition, they will also enjoy many welfare policies to improve their lives," Ms. Oanh shared.

At the job fair, Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company Limited (VIAGS) is recruiting more than 400 positions including: passenger service staff, load control, loading instructions, flight coordination; ground equipment repair and maintenance staff; specialists, professional staff; information technology specialists; ground equipment operators; baggage and cargo service staff, aircraft cleaning staff, etc.

Mr. Luu Hoang Minh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company Limited (VIAGS) said: Participating in the job fair, the company created a QR code for employees to find information about job positions as well as submit online applications. Regarding requirements, employees must know foreign languages, have good communication skills, be confident, be able to withstand work pressure and have good calculation skills. If employees are selected, the company will arrange time for direct vocational training at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. After training, employees will have the experience to immediately start working at Long Thanh Airport when it comes into operation.

Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) also recruits about 1,400 professional personnel including: operation engineers, maintenance, electrical equipment repair, chemical engineers... Preparing resources for Long Thanh Airport is not only an urgent task but also a long-term socio -economic development strategy. With the synchronous participation of the Government, ministries, sectors, localities and enterprises, Long Thanh Airport promises to become a new highlight of Vietnam's aviation, creating sustainable jobs for workers and development opportunities for Dong Nai.

Meet the resources of the early stage of operation

Long Thanh Airport is a key national aviation infrastructure project, entering the final stage to meet the schedule for phase 1 operation in 2026. When officially put into operation, it is estimated that about 14,000 personnel will be needed, including college and university graduates and unskilled workers. Of these, more than 5,000 people have a university degree or higher, more than 2,000 people have a college or intermediate degree, and the rest are unskilled workers. This force spans many fields: aviation services, flight management, air transport, logistics, security, etc.

Nguyen Cao Cuong, Deputy General Director of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), said: Long Thanh Airport is one of the key national infrastructure projects of strategic significance. The project aims to become a leading aviation transit hub in the region and the world. For such a large-scale project to operate effectively, the key factors are not only infrastructure and technology, but also human resources, a team of dedicated and professional officers, engineers, specialists and operators. ACV is hosting the job fair, bringing many career opportunities to students and enthusiastic young workers.

“ACV commits to not only stop at recruitment, but also accompany employees throughout the process of training, skill development, and career development. In recruitment activities, ACV prioritizes recruiting people from Dong Nai province, especially households whose land has been recovered to serve the Long Thanh Airport project,” Mr. Cuong shared at the job fair.

To proactively provide human resources for services inside and outside Long Thanh Airport, the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province has approved the Project on Human Resources Training for Long Thanh Airport in the period of 2024-2030, focusing on training 4,800 local workers in line with job position needs. Specifically, in the period of 2024-2026, 1,600 workers will be trained; in the period of 2027-2030, an additional 3,200 workers will be trained. People in Dong Nai Province, especially households in the project area, will be supported with vocational training costs and given priority in job referrals.

Training fields include: ground equipment operation, passenger service, logistics, flight coordination, hotel and tourism services around the airport. Training fields are diverse, from airport operations, aviation security, technical maintenance, to logistics services, restaurants, hotels, trade, tourism, finance and banking. This is not only a simple vocational training but also a social security and sustainable development strategy, prioritizing people whose land has been recovered and young local workers, linked to recruitment commitments of aviation businesses.

Continue to train workers to ensure smooth operations

To prepare resources for Long Thanh Airport in the initial stage of operation, ACV has prepared a job fair for more than a month, attracting 7 participating units. We are excited that the job fair attracted more than 9,000 registrants, a very large number, showing the interest of employees. Obviously, human resources for exploiting Long Thanh Airport are extremely important and we hope that the resources recruited this time will ensure quality standards. Units in the aviation industry continue to organize training and coaching to ensure employment for employees, bringing the operation of Long Thanh Airport into smooth operation right from the start.

Mr. NGUYEN XUAN PHONG, Head of the Long Thanh International Airport Operation Preparation Board (ACV)

Create a working environment for employees to have the opportunity to develop their abilities.

Vietnam Airports Corporation wants to build a working environment where each individual has the opportunity to develop their capacity, contribute value, and play an important role in building and enhancing the competitiveness of Long Thanh Airport when it is put into operation. This is not only an opportunity for employees to find a job, but also a journey to affirm their own capacity, contributing to building the image of a modern, civilized, and friendly airport.
