The TRVC project will be implemented from 2023 to 2027, with the goal of supporting the transition to low-carbon agriculture and responding to climate change in the Mekong Delta region.
At the ceremony, 10 units and businesses with outstanding achievements in linking with smallholder farmers to practice low-emission, high-profit rice cultivation (under the TRVC project) were honored.
According to independent verification results, the implementation of sustainable rice production processes on over 48,000 hectares (in Dong Thap and An Giang provinces) during the third cropping season of 2025 reduced CO2 emissions by more than 164,000 tons, and the average profit of farming households increased from 49.27% to 51.58% (exceeding the target of 30%).
The awards aim to encourage the participation of businesses in the rice value chain, expand the application of advanced rice production technologies that bring high economic value to farmers, improve rice quality, and reduce emissions.
The TRVC project will continue to be implemented in the 2025–2026 Winter-Spring crop season (crop 4) with a total registered area of over 66,064 hectares.
