To date, Phu Tho province has completed the restructuring and streamlining of state agencies at the provincial and district levels. This work is carried out in accordance with the Party's policy, aiming to enhance the efficiency of state management, save costs, and improve the quality of the staff, meeting the increasingly high demands of citizens and businesses for quality public services.

The Department of Transport is one of the units slated for merger. After merging with the Department of Construction, most of the Department's functions and responsibilities will remain unchanged, except for the state management of driver's license examinations and renewals, which will be transferred to the Provincial Police.

Comrade Nguyen Chi Loi - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport shared: In implementing the policy of streamlining the organizational structure of state agencies, the Department of Transport has been diligently and seriously carrying out its tasks in accordance with the directives of the Provincial Party Committee. The merger with the Department of Construction and the removal of the old name does not affect the functions and tasks of the department; the units continue to operate and handle work normally. In addition, on February 28th, the Department will complete the handover of all state management functions regarding driver's license examination and issuance to the Provincial Police Department.

In order to effectively carry out the newly assigned tasks in the field of driver's license examination and issuance, police officers of the Provincial Police Department have received training and guidance from instructors at the Provincial Driver Training and Examination Center on topics such as: legal regulations on driver's license examinations; regulations on examination organization; driver's license insurance during driving tests on public roads; guidance on driving skills on highways; procedures for organizing and conducting examination courses, duties of driver's license examiners; operation of the driver's license examination and issuance management software; examiner's duties in the examination sections, etc.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Trung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police: The training program is of great importance in equipping and updating basic knowledge about the content, procedures, regulations, and necessary skills in the examination and issuance of driver's licenses; serving the purpose of checking and evaluating to issue Examiner cards, ensuring that the traffic police force can quickly take on new tasks.

At the Phu Tho Provincial Public Administrative Service Center this morning, a large number of people came to the department for receiving and returning results of administrative procedures. Mr. Tran Dinh Hung, residing in Tien Cat Ward, Viet Tri City, said: "Today I came to renew my driver's license. I found the process of receiving the application and receiving the appointment slip for results to be very quick and efficient by the administrative staff. I didn't have to wait as long as I initially feared, thinking that today being the last day the Department of Transport would be responsible for renewing driver's licenses might cause difficulties or delays."

It is evident that, despite limited preparation time, the leadership and staff demonstrated a sense of urgency and responsibility in meeting the demands of the new situation. There were no interruptions or difficulties in the handover process or in carrying out subsequent tasks; everything is ready for the new system to operate effectively and best serve the interests of the people.
