The scene of the landslide.

Accordingly, at around 2-3 a.m. this morning, the strong current caused a landslide in the area of the Ba Thuy Long temple, damaging the embankment and part of the temple courtyard.

According to a survey by local authorities, the landslide area consists of a 15-meter wide and 55-meter long strip of land that has completely collapsed, severely damaging the embankment protecting the temple area and part of the temple courtyard. The estimated damage is over 750 million VND.

Mr. Le The Anh stated that the landslide area is close to the foundation of the main hall, which could significantly affect the load-bearing capacity of the main hall and is being continuously monitored.

According to local authorities, a large area of land in the Bà Thuỷ Long temple area is still cracked, and further landslides are predicted in the near future. The People's Committee of the commune has directed support forces to dismantle the paving stones in the courtyard and move them inside, reducing the load and damage should a landslide occur.

The Thuy Long Goddess Festival, associated with the Thuy Long Goddess Temple (Thanh Tung commune, Dam Doi district), was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2024.
