Scene of the landslide.
Accordingly, at around 2-3 am this morning, strong water flow caused a landslide in the area of Ba Thuy Long temple, damaging the embankment and part of the temple yard.
According to a survey by local authorities, the landslide area includes a 15 m wide and 55 m long area of land that has completely collapsed, severely damaging the embankment to prevent landslides in the temple area and part of the temple yard, with estimated damage of more than 750 million VND.
Mr. Le The Anh said that the landslide area is close to the foundation of the main hall, so it could greatly affect the load capacity of the main hall, and is being monitored.
According to local authorities, the cracked land area at Ba Thuy Long Temple is still very large, and it is predicted that more landslides may occur in the near future. The Commune People's Committee has directed forces to support the removal of paving bricks to move them inside, reducing the load and damage when landslides occur.
The Via Ba Thuy Long Festival associated with Ba Thuy Long Temple (Thanh Tung Commune, Dam Doi District) was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024.
