On October 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video recording the deployment of T-80 tanks in the Krasny Liman direction.
Images from the video show how the T-80 crew operates and the tank fires.

During the military campaign in Ukraine, in addition to sending modern tank models to the battlefield such as the T-90, Russia also brought T-80s.
The T-80 has faced off on the battlefield with modern tanks that the West has provided to Ukraine, such as the Leopard 2 (Germany), M1 Abrams (USA) and Challenger (UK).
The T-80 is powered by a gas turbine, which allows the vehicle to reach a maximum speed of 70km/h. This is the main battle tank line that Russia inherited after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Compared to other diesel tanks, the T-80 has an incredibly fast start-up time, especially in cold weather. For example, a diesel tank can take 45 minutes to start its engine in -30 degrees Celsius European winters. The gas turbine in the T-80 engine can do this in just a few minutes.
The highlight of the T-80 is its ability to operate in many different conditions, helping this tank still be trusted by Russia even though it has been in service for more than 20 years.
Thanks to its improved gas turbine engine compared to the T-72 and even the T-90, the T-80 is said to perform much better in sub-zero temperatures in Europe.
Although Western main battle tanks are much more modern than the T-80, experts point out that the T-80 can perform better in snow and cold than American, British and German weapons. This could give the T-80 an advantage on the battlefield, especially in harsh weather conditions.
The T-80 tank is based on the old Russian army T-64 tank. However, the main difference between the T-80 and other Soviet tanks is its gas turbine engine. The T-80 was also the first Russian tank to use integrated dynamic protection.
The T-80 was designed primarily to attack enemy armored vehicles, troops, fortifications, and low-flying helicopters in all weather and at all times of day.
It was one of the most maneuverable tanks ever built by the Soviet Union, combined with its low noise level. The T-80 was thus dubbed the "silent killer".
The T-80's advanced fire control system and 125mm 2A46M smoothbore main gun ensure destruction of the target with the first shot, whether the enemy vehicle is moving or stationary.
The T-80's cockpit is also said to help soldiers feel significantly warmer and more comfortable when having to sit for long periods of time in harsh weather conditions.
The T-80 has multiple layers of protection, with integrated explosive reactive armor (ERA) that can withstand direct hits.
