After nine months, tourists in Ho Chi Minh City spent nearly 185,000 billion VND.

On October 9-10, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism released information on the number of tourists in the first nine months of 2025. According to the report, the city welcomed over 5.8 million international visitors.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism , the number of tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City in the first nine months of the year was impressive. Of these, international visitors were estimated at over 5.8 million, while domestic tourists reached approximately over 29 million.

Total tourism revenue for the first nine months of 2025 is estimated at 184,629 billion VND.

According to the department, the figure of 5.8 million international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City has reached 69.2% of the 2025 plan; compared to the target of 58.8% for 2025.

Meanwhile, with the plan to attract domestic tourists in 2025, the number of visitors in the first nine months reached 64.8%; compared to the target of 58.4% for 2025.

In particular, total tourism revenue in the first nine months of 2025 reached 71% of the 2025 plan; and nearly 64% of this year's target.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry is also perfecting many distinctive product groups to serve tourists. Besides the unique products and tours that are regularly implemented, the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry is currently refining these distinctive product groups, organized along interconnected experiential routes.

For example, the "From City to River and Sea" journey or the "Sea Culture" series repositions coastal destinations linked to beliefs, heritage, and ecology.

Specialized products such as cuisine , night tourism, and traditional craft villages are being developed to personalize the experience.

In 2025, the number of international tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City is expected to increase by 30-40%.

With only a few months left in the year, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry is confident of achieving optimistic figures because it recognizes that the city is facing a golden opportunity to revitalize its tourism sector due to its diverse resources and vast market.

Following the merger, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism sector adjusted its 2025 targets, aiming for a 30-40% increase in international visitors and a 15-20% increase in domestic visitors. It also aims to double revenue from beach, industrial, and cruise tourism products. Furthermore, the sector will accelerate digital transformation and green initiatives throughout its entire management and operational processes.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has 7,211 businesses operating in the tourism sector. This includes 1,815 travel agencies and 5,396 accommodation establishments with 92,468 rooms and 9,540 tour guides.
