According to Resolution No. 93/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council just passed at the 24th Session of the 10th Provincial People's Council, Bac Kan will reorganize, merge, and rename villages and residential groups in the area in 2024, specifically:
Ba Be District: Merge 47 villages and sub-regions into 23 villages and sub-regions.
Bach Thong District: Merge 74 villages and residential groups into 35 villages and residential groups.
Cho Don District: Merge 143 villages and residential groups into 64 villages and residential groups.
Cho Moi District: Merge 71 villages and residential groups into 33 villages and residential groups.
Na Ri District: Merge 176 villages and residential groups into 74 villages and residential groups.
Ngan Son District: Merge 70 villages and residential groups into 31 villages and residential groups .
Pac Nam District: Merge 28 villages into 14 villages.
Bac Kan City: Merge 61 villages and residential groups into 43 villages and residential groups.
Regarding the renaming of villages and residential groups, Bang Lung town, Cho Don district changed the name of residential group 2A to residential group 2; changed the name of residential group 16 to residential group 7; changed the name of residential group 11A to residential group 11. Xuan Lac commune changed the name of Pu Lung 2 village to Pu Lung village.
Nong Ha Commune, Cho Moi District changed the name of Ban Tet 1 village to Ban Tet village.
Yen Lac town, Na Ri district changed the name of Gia Dia people's group to residential group number 5.
Huyen Tung Ward, Bac Kan City changed the name of Chi Len residential group to residential group number 8; changed the name of Khuoi Heo residential group to residential group number 9; changed the name of Tong Neng residential group to residential group number 11; changed the name of Ban Ven residential group to residential group number 12.
Immediately after the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 93/NQ-HDND, the Provincial People's Committee issued Guidelines for the implementation of the Resolution in the province. Accordingly, the District People's Committee organized the implementation to the Commune People's Committee to implement the contents of the Resolution. The Commune People's Committee organized the completion of the organization and personnel working in the new villages and residential groups before January 17, 2025 and organized the Ceremony to announce the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council.
Thus, after 3 mergers (2019, 2021 and 2024), the whole province has reduced 482 villages (from 1,421 villages to 939 villages). The merger is assessed to help streamline the apparatus, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of grassroots government management; reduce many small-scale villages and residential groups, overcome the fragmentation and division between villages and groups; reduce work units, reduce the large number of non-professional workers and expenses for positions, and reserve resources for investment in socio-economic development, ensuring security and national defense. Thereby helping localities mobilize and concentrate resources to invest in building cultural institutions, infrastructure, socio -economic development, public welfare works and building new rural areas./.
