Regarding the incident where streamer IShowSpeed ​​was charged $100 per ride when renting an electric scooter on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism - told Lao Dong Newspaper that the Department of Tourism has apologized to the streamer. Previously, the department also coordinated with District 1 to clarify the matter.

Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa also praised the quick and timely handling of this incident by the authorities. The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department issued a warning about cases of street vendors overcharging customers and strengthened measures to prevent price gouging at tourist destinations.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of September 14th, the Ben Nghe Ward Police, District 1, summoned two electric scooter rental operators on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street for allegedly overcharging streamer IShowSpeed.

Previously, a video circulated on social media showing two men renting out electric balance scooters overcharging male streamer IShowSpeed ​​for 1 million VND on the night of September 13th.

On his personal YouTube channel, streamer IShowSpeed ​​streamed a video lasting over 3 hours, documenting his activities in the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street area with a large crowd of fans following him.

Unexpectedly, IShowSpeed ​​encountered two men who rented out electric balance scooters, and the YouTuber expressed interest in renting one to try it out. The middle-aged man quoted a rental price of $100. At this point, IShowSpeed ​​hesitated slightly, but then gestured to pay.

When the male streamer took the money, the young man renting the scooter quoted a price of 1 million VND. IShowSpeed ​​had to pay 1 million VND for two people to rent the electric balance scooter for a few minutes.

Reportedly, the normal rental price for this type of vehicle is only 30,000 - 50,000 VND per hour. This incident has sparked mixed reactions on social media.
