Opinions focused on the operation of the new apparatus in a synchronous, smooth and effective manner, maximizing the advantages of each locality; preparing to organize upcoming major activities such as: Celebrating the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025),... and at the same time proposed plans for coordination and organization of cultural - sports - communication activities in the expanded area.
In particular, this meeting devoted a lot of time to discussing solutions and motivational mechanisms to promote the development of the culture and sports sector in the coming period.
In his concluding remarks, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan emphasized that this was a historic meeting, marking the transformation of the entire industry in the new context. The meeting received many high-quality and highly responsible opinions, with the common goal of serving the people in the new city.
The Director of the City Department of Culture and Sports requested departments, offices and units to comprehensively review all activities that have been, are being and will be implemented; pay attention to avoid affecting the cultural specialties of each locality, promote the development of grassroots cultural and sports movements, spread local cultural values, and connect the community after the merger. Activities and events that were previously well organized by any area should be retained, focused on development and improvement.
“The consistent spirit is not to reduce but to adjust appropriately in terms of scale and audience. On a large scale, there must be venues for organizing cultural and sports activities spread throughout Ho Chi Minh City, not concentrated in a few central areas. Wherever there are people who want to enjoy art, there must be us,” Director Tran The Thuan emphasized.
Regarding personnel, he proposed focusing on perfecting and organizing the apparatus of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City to be streamlined, strong, efficient, effective and efficient. Maximizing the professional capacity, knowledge, experience and skills of understanding the area of cadres, civil servants and public employees, focusing on training high-quality human resources, changing the mindset from "doing culture" to "state management of culture".
Regarding the reception of cultural and sports facilities in communes and wards, it is necessary to focus on exploiting, using and promoting the effectiveness of existing cultural and sports facilities and institutions to develop them into satellite areas with connectivity, interconnectivity, integration and synchronization between localities throughout the city.
The Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of the City also requested departments and units to promote the dissemination of the construction of Ho Chi Minh City cultural space, gradually turning this model into a common symbol of the new Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, focus on promoting superior policies from localities such as support mechanisms for artists, coaches, athletes and organizations operating in the field.
According to the report of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, the organization of festivals and major events in the first 6 months of the year was carried out solemnly, with many meaningful and unique activities, meeting the requirements of political tasks. In particular, the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) was held on a national scale in the City with many exciting and diverse activities, creating a solemn, sacred but close, practical atmosphere, spreading widely to all classes of people at home and abroad, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the people and international friends.
Along with that, in the field of Social Media and Digital Content, the City has reviewed, inspected and rectified 4 electronic information pages; inspected and detected 19 articles/6 social network accounts and coordinated with the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information to handle social network accounts posting inappropriate content that negatively affected public opinion. Coordinated with the City Police to request support to prevent 8 international domain names that showed signs of impersonating the website of Ho Chi Minh City Lottery One Member Co., Ltd.; requested the Vietnam Internet Center to temporarily suspend the operation of 5 domain names of organizations and individuals that showed signs of violating the law.
Regarding publishing, advising on the successful organization of the Tet Book Street Festival - 2025, attracting over 1,000,000 visitors in 7 days of operation with 175 programs, events and activities.
Before the merger, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, cinema, performing arts, libraries, and museums were also organized regularly and promptly to serve the local political, economic, cultural and social tasks and basically meet the needs of improving the spiritual life of the people. In addition, promote communication about the draft Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution; the project to arrange and reorganize the local government at 2 levels; guide the provincial press agencies to closely follow the orientation, principles, and purposes, and effectively carry out information and propaganda on the province's political tasks; fight against false, hostile arguments and toxic information.
In Binh Duong, cultural and sports activities have been innovated in content and form to create atmosphere and serve the entertainment needs of all classes of people. In communication work, the Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to approve the policy for Binh Duong Radio and Television Station to broadcast BTV1 channel to transmission systems outside the province in 2025. Coordinate with national foreign radio and television channels (VOV5, VTV4) in producing and broadcasting programs to promote the province's image.
