In May 2023, Binh Thuan tourism continued to make its mark, welcoming over 805,000 visitors, a 9.18% increase compared to April 2023 and a 66% increase compared to the same period last year. The significant increase in visitors to Binh Thuan compared to the previous month was due to several favorable factors such as extended holidays, good weather, and many attractive promotional tour packages. To develop the tourism industry in the new phase, the government and tourism businesses are focusing their efforts on improving infrastructure and enhancing service quality. In addition, the province has intensified the organization of cultural and sports events and festivals linked to tourism development. Many vibrant national and international cultural, sports, and tourism activities, in response to the 2023 National Tourism Year "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence," have continuously taken place in the locality.

In fact, after the opening of the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway, travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet (approximately 200 km) has been shortened to about 2 hours. As a result, the number of tourists from Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces visiting Binh Thuan has increased significantly compared to before. From the end of May, when students and schoolchildren began their summer vacation, the number of tourists traveling on weekdays also increased. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhi, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said: “Previously, traveling took 5-6 hours, and with limited time for our trip, my family usually chose destinations that were nearby and easily accessible. But now, travel between Ho Chi Minh City and Phan Thiet is quite fast, and Phan Thiet is very beautiful, so my family has a new option.”

The summer tourist season in Binh Thuan is usually vibrant from June to August. Even though it's only the beginning of summer, beaches, tourist areas, accommodations, and resorts are already bustling with visitors. During the summer, most tourists visiting Binh Thuan are domestic. Therefore, tourism businesses in Binh Thuan launch various summer-themed programs such as 2-day/1-night packages; 3-day/2-night packages; and day-use packages – summer getaways in a single day. Besides improving service quality, tourism and accommodation businesses in Binh Thuan also strengthen measures to ensure the safety of tourists, especially regarding water safety.

Since the beginning of June, Binh Thuan province has welcomed the summer tourism season, with relatively stable bookings at many accommodation establishments, and some places consistently achieving high occupancy rates. This shows that Binh Thuan's tourism is booming. With these positive signs right from the start of summer, Binh Thuan tourism is hoping for a "bumper" domestic tourism season; getting closer to the goal of welcoming 6.7 million tourists in 2023 and successfully organizing the National Tourism Year - "Binh - Green Convergence".
