In a petition to the City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, residents of Trung Son residential area (Lien Chieu ward) requested that the city recognize Trung Son forest in the ward as a city-level historical site.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , Trung Son Forest is an ancient forest located in Trung Son village, Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district (formerly), now part of Lien Chieu ward, Da Nang city.

The forest has been protected and preserved intact by the local people since the village was established (in 1670) to the present day. Inside and on the edges of the forest, many relics are still preserved: the tombs of nearly 200 martyrs, Trung Son communal house, ancient well, memorial stele for the heroic martyrs, Am Linh shrine and Ba Ngu Hanh shrine.

Based on the historical and cultural values of Trung Son Forest, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has completed the dossier for ranking this site as a city-level historical relic; and at the same time advised the City People's Committee to include Trung Son Forest in the inventory of historical relics according to Decision No. 2954/QD-UBND dated December 29, 2023 of the Da Nang City People's Committee.

At the time of compiling the scientific dossier, the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District (formerly) organized a consultation with the local community and relevant departments and agencies to propose to the People's Committee of Da Nang City for consideration and approval of the adjustment of the detailed planning for this location.

On December 10, 2021, the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District (formerly) issued Decision No. 8667/QD-UBND approving the adjustment of the detailed planning at a scale of 1/500 for the Trung Son Hill historical site (replacing Decision No. 8499/QD-UBND dated December 12, 2016 of the People's Committee of Da Nang City on approving the detailed planning of Trung Son Hill).

Following the approval of the revised plan, compensation, land clearance, land acquisition, and land allocation for households within the project area have yet to be implemented. Therefore, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism lacks sufficient basis to determine the current land use status, which is necessary for developing a plan to delineate and protect the historical site.

To ensure legal compliance, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposes that the People's Committee of Lien Chieu Ward promptly complete the compensation and land clearance work, as well as the procedures for land acquisition and allocation for households within the project area. This is an important basis for implementing the next steps in the protection and promotion of the value of the Trung Son forest relic site.
